Here check this out. If you play FS/IG then you already know that it is lacking and should have been reporting it.
2 months with no fixes for mages, only more and more bugs.
And on top of that the supposed upcoming change to flamethrower with the large mana increase to its usage…yup its a great time to be FS user ![]()
You main hm? And what are you thoughts on the class? is it in good spot? or needs buff or at least its old glory… like… slow on flamethrower (since homing is insane in this game), incinerate grit, heal and knock back (without being perks), meteor shower changed or beta meteor shower and pillar of fire hitting 2-3x depending in the aim and spot you get the enemy and fire ball giving CD to all skills and ignoring shields.
I’m curious now because I didn’t play before release. What’s the difference?
Did not find older videos, but you can see each meteor drop hits or at least there are much more meteor drops and you can also move, there is no stuck in ground “grit”.
While on this you can see you have the lame grit, and it seems there is less meteor fall or same meteor falling but less hits.
Well I am familiar with the one we have now and it seems like a downgrade.
yeah it is downgrade. It seems it got downgraded because the first one was too spammy and made servers lag, but to put stuck on ground on it? to lower the meteor fall and not put more damage? i dont really know how master aenwyn could really be silent seeing all these nonsense nerfs xd it seems mage just devolved and not evolved.
I mean its like seeing a poster of a big mac and then going to the restaurant.
Burnout left a trail of fire apparently that could be nice. Incinerate looked way way cooler.
We’ve been scammed xD seriously wtf
You’re not wrong - most mages play like idiots even if they did see a ton of success with it in the past. They play things like light armor mortal empowerment flamethrower and then pretend like that build should be strong and viable in every meta.
That has never been the case. My first build when i hit 60 was void spear. It was extremely niche and not slottable in war outside of memes. Did my build deserve to be viable just because i equiped the weapons and wanted it to be strong?
Cue the mage mental gymnastics on why flamethrower deserves to be meta but void spear doesnt.
A super aggresive, glass canon, close range playstyle is not going to be viable all the time.
The issue is that dex can still play aggresively and have access to more of their damage because they can still rapier away and have tons of haste buffs.
This makes it unfair to mages because they got nerfed harder than dex without reason. They need something extra now
Void is ok state. Problem is FS. No reliable dmg, no utility, no reliable escape, no grit, no stagger, no CC. Nothing.
bump
problem still exist.
been playing BB/IG (which classifies as a MAGE class) 400 int 100 con setup and it absolutely MELTS melees to the point that even GS players start running the other way because they know if that nade + shrapnel hits them point blank they’re dead.
Try using a Light attack the range of the Light attack is the range the class was designed to play in.
The mage has been nerfed into the ground making it very unlikely that you consistently play that range you’re opting for Bow Range because the changes have forced you out of the mage playstyle.
That kind of highlights a major issue with scaling in this game BB is 80/20 on STR/INT.
But for some reason even though it primarily scales off of STR it’s stronger on INT.
I just tested a 200 str, 200 int 100 con setup and this thing hits atleast 30% harder than my 400 int setup with t2 gems lmao that’s crazy!
I honestly think it’s because of the perks for the abilities like the Splitting nades final perk says inflicts 10% of damage as Burning, So I honestly believe the game is registering the BB damage as fire damage which would make it elemental and that’s effecting the scaling of damage from Int causing a Huge increase to the weapons overall dmg.
Blunderbuss has the same scaling as Musket
Comparing 2 625 of these weapons
Musket @ 625 GS has 120x2 (240 thrust damage without elemental gem)

Blunderbuss @625 GS has 50x6 (300 thrust damage without elemental gem)

There’s a whopping 60 thrust damage difference which is the reason why a blunderbuss can run 150 con and STILL manage to deal a boatload of damage. (This is in consideration that the weapon scales exactly the same as a Musket (90% Dex, 65% int) v.s Blunderbuss (90% Str, 65% int)
If the Musket had the same thrust damage values as a blunderbuss we can then see way more muskets putting attributes into “constitution”
But that will never be the case as Musket is a defunct weapon that “has” to be played from good distance in order to be effective. Meanwhile the blunderbuss excels at close-quarters combat upto 20meters
It’s impossible to have a 90% STR and 65% Int Scale on the BB the total of the two combined only goes up to 100% you’re 56% beyond that.
And since it primarily scales off of STR the fact that Int is for Arcane and Elemental damages then there’s an issue with the scaling.
Your entire explanation adds nothing of value to the conversation.
