Why do people think healers should be easy to kill?

I mean, I can heal M10’s with all AoE but that requires zero ranged players to be present and all melee goons.

M10 dynasty is an entirely ranged favored dungeon. Good luck to everyone who decides to run that.

There are people [on the forums] who say that PvE does not matter and that the developers can always change the numbers (hp value + damage numbers) of mobs in PvE.

That might work one time. However, doing that every time change happens will not be feasible in the long run.

As it is too much developer resources for a project manager to dedicate before they get fired.

Regardless, the changes on PTR shows that there is no vision. Just kneejerk reactions and listening to bad advice over and over.

Do you have proof that it is a bunch of melees or are you using the sterotype all melee do is come on here and complain

The comments were all about “Chasing healers.”

Mages and Dex players don’t chase. They don’t need to since chasing removes them from optimal positioning.

Besides that, Mages + Dex outrange healers as ranged DPS is effective to 35 meters (minimum, with max being 120 meters) and targeted healing is effective to 20 to 25 meters (maximum range).

The proof is in the pudding. The wording is very specific to Melee DPS. PvP Tanks are bygones of the first two months of launch.

Tanks are absent in the PvP scene, outside of SnS + Ice Gauntlet or SnS + Void Gauntlet.

For the record, my post was stated as a bit tongue-in-cheek.

That’s why I look forward to healer shortage, many players will suddenly find they aren’t as good as they think they are without their healers.

The only way that this matchup is going to work, is instapopping the healer from the getgo, and making it a 2vs3.

Short of that, you would need to make heals a magnitude lower, and healers many orders squishier.

Alternatively, you could severely tune down the heals to bottom support levels and tune up their output more like a bard, low heals, medium dps to balance it out.

That would also require retuning the game a bit to account for minimal healing/buffing.

What’s the point of healing here when the healing system here doesn’t work. Healing here needs a good rework.

Nothing has had a rework since launch. 7 months in and all the weapons have not had any major changes, beyond bug fixes.

Weapon kits have been stagnant since closed and open beta (1.5 years ago) and nothing indicates that it will change.

imagine ruining a entire game for a mini game arena maybe 50 people to each server will play… and for people who dont know how to kill a healer solo its sad…

I tried healing PvP and it was horrible! I was like this high stress for a healer. Never again.

No one want healers to be easy kills, we just want them to be killable.
As they are right now they are pretty much raid bosses that need 3+ ppl to kill.

nope ur not runnng a healer killer build sns/spear for example those guys can wipe a healer fast as hell but left cick spamming with a ga/hammer ussaly dont work niether dose just sitting there with a flame thrower

I think the ease at which people are killed should be reflective of their performance in combat.

Unfortunately, the game is intentionally designed to not be skill-based which is why so many of these “problems” are rooted in gear balance and metas.

Thats how you kill healers in other games, more competitive games like OW or WoW. But there you would also have to cast abilities and I could interrupt it and silence you for a few sec. Be happy that we cant interrupt in NW. :wink:

You clearly don’t use stuns/roots/slows properly if you can’t 1v1 a healer. Anyone can do it right now. Its called using a blunderbuss or S&S or Hammer chaining combos.

The fact is people are awful at this game and complain to the devs so they change the game so much that 90% of the playerbase quits. Then they keep making it easier and easier for melee players who just want to left click spam.

Fortunately, not everyone plays brainless, facerolling, cheesy meta builds.

Some use buils without CC, not because they don’t want to use CC but because the weapons they prefer don’t have any.

I don’t think it’s a good policy to force ppl to play with weapons they don’t like, to be effective in 3v3.

Same goes for the ring of fire. Ranged players and lights armor players are is a disadvantage compared with heavy armor melee players.

Imo 3v3’s should end at minute 3 and the team with more players alive wins or in a 1v1 the player with the most HP wins.

Ring of fire leves out kiting builds, ranged builds, light armor builds because it forces eeryone into a melee fight in the center.
