How to kill a healer (black guards void gauntlet)
If a single healer gets hit by a hammer stun from 1 guy then that person is simply a really bad healer.
chain CCs from hammer, not a lot play that way though but its happened, but most have been going for healers with the axe more lately which is easy and predictable to get out of.
You’re undermining what effects the healer brings to their team, and the use of rapier.
One riposte is all it takes to gain distance and throw a sacred ground to their team to keep up the heals. You don’t have to always baby-sit them healing just a couple of times throwing heals here and there would do the trick.
The rotation is simple, riposte someone and fleche away heal teammates and then gain distance by just running away. If they catch you again, rinse and repeat. This is buying enormous amount of time for the bruiser to melt the enemy team. If they are wearing heavy armor they can stay on point at wars or solo back cap in OPRs. They’ll need at least 3 - 5 people to bring down a heavy healer back capping. That is very costly for a 40 man game like OPR.
As a light healer, I’ve had 5 GA/WH people try to kill me and not be able to touch me. This is while I am keeping my group alive with SG + beacon and saving LE for myself any time I get touched or want some more stamina.
No one just walks up to a healer with a hammer and chain stuns them. It takes something other than GA/WH to take them down. (Unless they blow cooldowns for no reason, or something).
Edit: I’d like to highlight that I am distracting a lot of people that should really be using AOEs in the clump fight, and I’m still able to provide huge healing to my team. Nothing in this scenario is making me choose to either ONLY heal my team or ONLY heal myself. I’m doing both. Like I said earlier, this is why so many people have started doing 1-shot builds, because nothing else works with any sort of reliability.
im not because i heal and its crazy there must be so many heavy healers on other servers, mine on the west i only see light healers still.
yeahif one team has a healer they will probably do better, thats why others should get a healer as well, ez. Its like if you were missing a mage obviously it will be harder if not impossible for your group. Called composition, gotta have it.
guess youre superior to all other healers mb, youre right chain ccs do nothing on healers then
And this is how I know you don’t actually want to discuss anything, lol. When you start putting words in my mouth and saying stuff I’ve never claimed.
Youre saying that you can take on 5 bruisers and that they cant
kill healers even through chain cc though ive seen it happen many times.
So you agree that healers can quickly escape any situation with a rapier as a secondary, including dodges and using their pots and heals? And that whoever has a healer will win all the time?
Yes. I am speaking from personal experience. Barring some unusual situation where they sneak up on me, what are they going to do? I have way more mobility than they do. They are forced to use charge to try to keep up with me, but I’m already gone. They won’t ever hit me.
No, if I could always escape I would never die. I always escape against unskilled players though
not true sadly; a bad player can usually be taken down with relative ease. They burn their potion cooldown early and then die to a simple combo.
This change will mean we really need to start protecting our healers instead of just leaving you to fend for yourselves. So, those SnS/BB players will need to start running defensive formation and staying with you to keep the 30% damage reduction up on you, it’s going to mean less laissez-faire zipping around for light armor DPS… unless they’re really good at managing their cooldowns. Healers are once class where you unfortunately get smacked around with hefty changes to alter the prevailing meta
i aint him but i wouldn’t say that.
you can bully pocket healers enough to make them less effective. enough to usually win things.
not all the time, but yes having a healer is and will always be an advantage of course. Healers can easily escape because of rapier especially, doesnt mean they always will
No one thinks that.
Healers shouldn’t be impossible to kill. It shouldn’t take 5 or 9 players to take them down.
1-3? sure maybe. That’s a bit more reasonable. In addition to that there should be consequences when they’re not healing their team. Like for example… a dead team.
Balance.
I fully agree because bruisers are genuinely the least scary, im speaking more on behalf of the other healers, though usually a lot of those dont get into war for lack of situational awareness tbh.
Mages though are def harder to get away from, usually if they focus more on killing healers they can do so easily, especially firestaffs though those arent utilized as much as well
Right this, I fine so many times that in like a 3v5 I’ll end up getting 3-4 chasing me while my dps picks them off one by one and we win, where they could have sent one to harasses me and all focus my dps and win the fight
Calling people you escaped from “unskilled” isn’t really a fair assumption.
They could’ve made a mistake, or their teammates did. You’re making the assumption that if you can escape from them = unskilled, if you can’t = skilled. That’s not always what happens. We can’t really make this assumption until we can get a vlog to determine who is, or isn’t unskilled/skilled.
Yeah the cast time in ptr will kill the healer and the team, they can nerf healers yes but they did 4 nerfs that directly and indirectly ruin single target healers, ill likely swap off it because its too slow gameplay for me
also 4 nerfs are stam changes (indirect and effects everyone ik), armor change, le cast time, le buffs reduced
