You are funny. I guess you was kicked out from several invasions?
fun fact 1: You can only pick 10 of 50 players, which means you have a) a random roster or b) you kick players until you get nearly your prefered setup.
fun fact 2: It is really the pve endgame of this game, which means it´s tough until you´ve beaten it.
fun fact 3: You need preparations, good equipment, the right skills and skilled players. If you stack the prefered heavy hammer/gaxe meta, you will loose for sure, which means people need offspec and gear. 3x trophies, bufffood, coatings, whetstones, gems, + corruption dmg perks, rends, a lot of range bow/musket users, perfect timed gaxe gravities etc.
fun fact 4: It´s a PvX game with a slightly higher focus on pvp, which means you´re a troll.
it requires a different organization and team work. Invasions are more likely to succeed if you organize as a server. Take the most prepared from the whole server, and are better at leading and instructing people outside of your company group. It also required different builds and tactics that most companies were not interested in developing/investing in. Surely the richest guilds could afford to get everyone in their guilds teir 3 trophies, armor, consumables, and experiment with various builds and tactics
if running invasions was run by PVE focused guilds in other games it would be commonly completed on populus servers commonly, most likely even with some newbs. I know this because I have seen this type of content in other games beaten fairly regularly, and not needing two months.
PVP players as a whole didn’t care that much about pve, were not willing to invest the time, energy, or money, and work together in order to win.
they clearly had the numbers and the resources to succeed. This basically means their failure is some combination of lack of interest, lack of skill/organization , and lack of knowledge.
Fun fact 4 . War leaders can remove people from invasions until they have the roster they want. This is a practice that the devs themselves have said was okay.
After getting kicked multiple times regardless of skill and preparation these people don’t sign up for invasions any more as they have no desire getting kicked constantly from a battle they aren’t wanted in.
The targeted audience for the op is clearly the people who come on the forums and take a dump on the community that chooses not to flag in open world .
The highly organized PVP guilds are the only ones consistently beating the invasions, at least on my two servers.
They kick out the PvE randos and fill the invasion roster with their own players who are appropriately geared, have appropriate trophies, and use the right consumables. The invasions become trivial.
Haha, this made me laugh. We have this absolute nut butter eating loser on Orun who camps people with a musket from really hard to get to - mountain spots he somehow climbed his way up onto. He then proceeds to harass them in global chat, not even area chat. Our entire server thinks he’s a useless tool.
“fun fact 1: […] or b) you kick players until you get nearly your prefered setup.”
Our company has a signup-roster for extern people, but it would be still easier to assign and reduce the bad taste of kicking if the company can choose all people. (and yes, we also take extern)
There are enough cities which don´t have crafting station upgrades or only a few one. On our server people can join them easy, but there isn´t a high chance to win these, of course.
There is literally nothing hard in invasion beside using repair part acordingly.
It’s mostly stat tcheck weather you have the corupted trophee / perk / potion etc
Cause they suck. Im also a pvp player for a good part, but the so called “designated PVP company” on our server, which is ofc yellow, loses every invasion so hard - its unreal. They can only play wars, I guess because they organize their army quiet well, but the rest - omegalul.
They say they “just suck at PvE”, sure buddy. Funny thing is, a good chunk of their army, even tho dominating the server, are imho just bad to average players. I remember when people were dueling one day out of town and so many yellows just got clappedin their insane Gear. I remember some Randy being like “meet me after war!!!” when I killed him - he then doesnt answer after war. So I call him out in Global and be like “come WW bro, you wanted to duel me” - never came, just talked smack to me the little pus
I also see them chasing Level 20 Chars as lvl 60 player and when I try to help the low lvls they just run away from a fair and square 1v1.
I guess its the same on your server or you are on my server hahah
Very wrong. Or is your server populated by like 100 people? If people give a slight shit about invasion they will be some kind of organized. We lose almost every invasion with just 1-3 minutes on the clock, just making calls here and there.
The PvP demographic is too small for a game to be developed for them or that style of gameplay. Even New World saw the metrics of PvP players in MMORPGs, noticed the Survival Genre shrinking a bit then panicked after Atlas blew up following the successes of Ark in 2014-2018.
yeah turns out your average video game enjoyer doesnt want to be stuck dealing with incels who play 18 hours a day because their whole self worth is tied up in a video game
thats why pve games like final fantasy and wow are such resounding success stories.
Well you can only fill 10 on the roster and are forced to kick 30 other dent heads who will occasionally actively sabotage your repair parts. But yes they must instead be bad at a 3 Button game.
Well usually invasions are filled with PVP’ers because PVP players are usually the ones who own territories and often putting at least 10 of their players into the roster and kicking out people they don’t know (the pve’rs usually). Meaning most invasions are probably being won by PVP players.
But sure, lets say for a second PVP players struggle more than PVE players. Why would this be the case? Because they aren’t geared for it.
If anything, the reason a PVP oriented player may lose invasions more frequently is because all their gear/loadouts are HEAVILY focused on PVP (resilience, refreshing, ability perks, etc) whereas a PVE player usually has the luxury to get corruption armor (dmg resistance and bonus dmg) instead and are free to stack medium/heavy armors and corruption trophies.
A PVP player (unless they’re VERY enggame and super-geared with a set for everything), then they likely will be 40% weaker than a PVE player who is equally geared out.
Simple.
Anyway… can this PVE vs PVP nonsense stop? It’s like the age-old console vs PC argument.
It’s silly.
(Coming from a PVPVE aka PVX player who does both)
No need to be arrogant, instead just enlighten us all as to what you consider end-game.
As a healer, refreshing, resilient and specific ability perks for lifestaff (fortifying sacred ground) are usually the top picks. Theres other options for sure, but it’s what works best for me and a lot of top players on my server.
For invasions, you absolutely should consider using at least one of the corruption perks. It turns invasions into a joke. Definitely not mandatory, but makes it easier.
I’ve gotten to the last minute on my old server with everyone just using faction gear, no trophies and only half with potions/coatings.
