Why do we have a feedback section?

I’m actually very curious. We submit lots of feedback, that feedback may (or may not) get passed to the team, but as far as I can tell it’s all ignored.

The only thing that gets any immediate attention is bugs/exploits (which is fair) but then you go about ‘fixing’ things nobody was asking to be fixed. And lots of critical and missing parts of the game are still missing. [Edit: arcana still not able to make 600 gs items, missing quests (you have time to create new ones, but not fix the existing ones?), lack of end game content, war lag due to hammer spam, etc.]

Is all of our feedback actually going to a completely different team that is making a completely different game? The CMs do say they will forward our feedback to the dev team… but they don’t actually say it’s going to the New World dev team. Hmm…

I’m personally unsure of the quantity of team members they have but I do have to give them the benefit of the doubt in saying they are dealing with a very large amount of issues that have great impact on the game. Obviously they didn’t ask for those issues to occur but it’s just one of those cases where certain issues outrank quality of life suggestions and such. However I do have some gripes and wish certain suggestions were looked at closely, even if they aren’t pertaining to those game breaking bugs. I have seen Kay and other developers respond to some of those smaller suggestions/complaints, although infrequently.

Would love to have the ability to change my hair… Amongst other things.

I feel very bad for Kay and the forum mods especially. They have had to deal with lots of issues and almost certainly haven’t had much sleep since launch.

But I do have to question the prioritization of certain changes. And whoever thought it a good idea to test balance changes without actually allowing for feedback to factor into them being released must be very new to the job. PTR is for trying things, listening to feedback, making adjustments, and once everything seems like it is working then you release. They should not have tied partial and untested balance changes to such a major update.

Unfortunately, the fall out from this is going to be hard learning experience for some on their team :frowning:

Edit: I also wouldn’t mind having a barber I could go to and trim my beard.

Then don’t open up balance feedback threads and lead players on to believing if they spend hours/days writing thoughtful responses that it actually matters. Nowhere did they say, “nothing posted in these threads will be considered for this PTR”.

There were even bugs discovered in the PTR that didn’t make it into the patch. Letting bugs discovered in a PTR go to Live is unequivocally the anti-thesis of a PTR. Otherwise just call it a “Public Preview Realm” for “take a look how we’re going to fuck your game in 2 weeks”.

I have no sympathy for AGS. Zero communication or feedback to the players who are spending hours/days doing free QA for them is pathetic.
