Iāve been in 2 merges and have never seen this happen to anyone I know. Every single merge transferred every single character into the next server afaik.
thats what i thought too tiil i logged on today to find it had put me somewhere else.
Well⦠i have my professions maxed out. All weapons at lvl 20 625 GS, light and medium sets for int and dex.
PvP is a steaming pile of $h17 so i spend my time in game in my āhome cityā just chatting with my company mates. Thatās all I do in game lately.
There was never a complaint of this on either merges.
Someone had to have to xferred before quitting or something. If this actually happened during merges there would have been uproar and demands of free tokens. Someone transferred and forgot they did.
I enjoy both pve and pvp so when they screw up one aspect, Iāll just play the other. This has gotten me through some rough patches where a lot of people quit because their preferred activities were in a bad place. It also gives me a lot more variety so I donāt get bored. Every time Iām just about bored to death with both, they release a new dungeon, 3v3ās, weapon, zone etc. to keep me interested. Iāve managed to find just the right balance to still be playing since launch without taking a break.
I also really enjoy the pursuit of wealth, playing the market, farming legendary drops, collecting gear and perfecting builds.
Lastly, the social aspect. I like having a bunch of degenerates to banter with, gives me a break from the wholesome married/family life.
New World has the most satisfying combat of any MMO I ever played.
It also has very addictive gameplay.
Also - no monthly fee. ![]()

The regular updates
despite the simplicity of the combat and its pace. its the closest thing to a dark souls style game being a MMOrpg. yeah as far as recycling its enemy npcās goes they have beaten the dead hourse to a mash paste, through some starch in the mash, molded it into a make shift horse and then proceeded to beat it again, but now Iām more curious to see just how subtle the changes can be before people call them on it and all speak up and say enough is enough. the lizards are a reskin of the abominations we have seen in the game on day one, the larger acid dwelling characters are a reskin of the corrupted, the scorpions are admittingly new to the game and making the ancient constructs may be a reskin of the large brute creatures from amrine with a very satisfying addition of separation of body joints that become part of the combat which is a nice touch. so they do get it. there is movement in the right direction and despite agsā history with previous games, this one seems to be one that they want to drag kicking and screaming into a being more than just a mediocre game experience. and I cant help but appreciate this underdog story of a game studio that has had all the means to succeed, has fallen from grace and is putting in the effort to gain the good graces in the eyes of the public.
I will say that it is missing an option to increase its difficulty to make the combat feel more unforgiving when dealing with the npcās especially when in the end game as you can remove all your armor and still be a death dealing bane of all existence to anything below level 50 and as a stealth fan, I really hate that your agro diminishes as you gain levels over the npc enemies. not even any acknowledgement of your presence. its not a matter of dude where is my respect with that feature so much as you simply disappear from the eyes of your enemies unless you are 2 feet away. which means that the difficulty is nullified the higher level you are as the enemies wont even try to gang up on you to mitigate the skill requirement that your characters level should imply. an optional level synchronization would fix this issue and maybe help persuade players to join other dungeons like amrine or starstone as a base level and help new players not just for the soul purpose of getting them through the dungeon run but because they will actually receive somewhat of a challenge in the same way the newb players would experience the dungeon. and low level areas with interesting elite zones would become relevant once more instead of failing to obscurity.
with the new heart stone gem mechanic the combat is at least a bit more interesting as you have to work at charging up a special attack and have to really choose and commit to your decision to use it because it will take more than just a few short seconds to recharge or simply kill just a few enemies, its actually a hard decision to pull that trigger in combat and I respect the hell out of that on a game design stand point. because it actually comes as a surprise when a player actually uses that attack on you as opposed to just counting to 30 seconds in your head in combat and just dodging accordingly.
I love doing elite chest runs in a video game all day.
Even the best MMOs are repetitive. Itās just the nature of the game, as a quest you can repeat fails to feel new after a while. The same is true of amazingly boring games like Assassianās Creed, which is literally five different quests repeated over and over with slightly-different architecture.
The difference, really, is that you play MMOs with friends and with other boring cut-and paste games (Iām looking at you, Ubisoft), thereās very little to keep you engaged other than a vape pen or a really strong cocktail.
I keep saying, āthatās it, Iām going to stop playing this damn game,ā and I never do because I have 100 fun people in my company, and we all have a good time together. Thatās the magic of an MMO. Who gives a shit about the world? This is essentially a social chat room with a quasi-interesting world simulation attached, and Iām here for it.
for me its the immersion, the world is really beautiful.
game mechanics are okay nothing new or fancy so easy to learn.
i always enjoyed gathering and crafting so im all in for that.
I love to be in a world that not the real world.
so because no one has complained about it, it couldnt have happened? even though im reporting it happened? smdh.
Yes, thatās exactly it. Lol. Iām very active on the forums and especially since the first merge didnāt have free transfer tokens after or even paid transfer tokens, if this was something that happened to random people by bad luck then there definitely wouldāve been an uproar on the forums. There wouldāve been ragers from every corner vocalizing how trash AGS was.
Letās Go Brandon!
How does merging of servers put you on different servers? It consolidates servers, not split them. And how did it wipe out your company?
Sorry but Iām just not buying it.
Cause i like the game. itās much better than what it came with at launch, The game still needs a lot of new content, but ags are on the right track with brimstone sands
I play because I love how immersive the environment is and the fact the place feels real to me. Iām always feeling lost and in need of a map when Iām playing because the world absorbs you. I used to play WoW and I loved it, it was really easy to play without ever looking at the map because I had been everywhere and learnt the environments (with exception to Cataclysm and Pandaland, as I didnāt play them). I always feel as though Iām exploring and finding new things. Iām really enjoying the new Brimstone Sands environment but I do wish that you could scale surfaces that look like they can be scaled! Jumping up and not being able to climb onto a ledge that scrapes your belly is annoying! If we canāt climb something, make it look like we canāt climb it!
I havenāt joined a guild yet though, so I think thatās something that Iām going to do today or tomorrow. Itās the bit I love/hate the most. I love voice comms and getting to know and help people is a massive plus for me. Sadly the amount of people without āPress To Talkā on these days makes me want to give up gaming. Hearing people eat/cough/type/talk to people at home is annoying as hell and really breaks the immersion of games.
Iām looking forward to transmog and load outs as I think that this will really open the game up for a lot of people. I want to try different builds but the thought of trying to find my gear and respec always stops me. Iād rather level a new character than to piss about in the current iteration of bag space. FF14 had the perfect load out system, in my opinion. Letās hope that itās something like this! The transmog will be great, as Iād love to mix my gear and choose the colour. The āSkinsā are great and all but, you can seldom mix those items about because of the colour of them. Being able to change the colour of items (skins as well) would open up new game play, should they allow skin colourisation of course. Letās hope so! ![]()
I love the realistic weapons and armour and Iām hopeful that one day weāll have realistic 2 handed weapon skins too. I just canāt play swinging a fridge on a stick, an ironing sword or that silly axe, itās just to breaking for me. Itās a bit like watching a cartoon film like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, it should never have been done. Make a cartoon/animation or make a normal film. Mixing the extremes doesnāt work for me and itās something that stops me from playing those weapons, which is a shame because the builds look fun but, walking around looking like Buckeroo is a āWTFā moment!!1
Because I intend to see it through.
I do enjoy the game, even with its faults & disappointments.
