I agree that removing the cost to respec would greatly improve gameplay, due to the fact that peoples will experiment more with different builds making the game more interesting.
Since we have Fresh Start now. For early game (less money making times of the game) build swapping cost is a terrible idea. Cuz this game encourage you to play with multiple weapons and you need multiple builds for every need Dungeons(Dungeons and Mutations of 'em needs specific items), Invasions & Corruption Breach Runs (Corrupted Gear), PvP (even PvP differs in itself as War Gear, Arena Gear, OPR Gear), And you need some gathering bonuses in certain attiributes so whille farming & gathering you need certain builds too.
And as a Healer that effects me most cuz while I’m leveling or farming around or do Solo PvP I’m not building healer cuz those are hard almost impossible for a pure healer build. I need to switch between a lot ! Cuz in every group or war content I’m gonna switch to my Healer build.
So if there isnt class system in this game, and if they promised that we’ll get loadout system and every year we’ll get 2 or 3 more weapon ?! Then why attiribute respeccing or weapon kill tree reseting has a cost !!
If I can win onver an Invasion (which is something sooo impressive and it requires great commitment) game rewards me with 1K only ! But when I respec my stuff I gave 200 coin ? Logic ?
Crafting, Refining these are already coin pits in game economy. No need for respec costs imo.
oh ye horrible… got around 9k gold by lv 37…
imagine i gotta pay 120 gold each time to respecc…
sarcasm over… u dont have to swap that often, specially since u find gear every 5min + u could almost finish everything being naked…
If you micro play yes you need to swapt often and that depends on how the individual play the game it’s not upto you to say “not need respec often”.
For example, with “Perfect Salvage” patch they put salvaving perk on 100 Focus mark. So while crafting masses of products being in 100 Focus is something important.
So again another field that game want me to swap attiributes but it costs.
Sarcasm or not. There aint no logical reason behind the idea of respec cost in game that literrally want you to “SWAP” a lot.
End of Discussion…
used to be 500 back in my day… and I had to walk 2km to work
When we meant a money sink, it is money that we spent and don´t go for any other player, like respect.
you spent 200k and have -20k profit, your money was reduced, but the 20k that you lost still on the market with other players.
The money you spent respec goes for the monsters and no one else.
The attributes are created for your specific hole at the game, the different builds are created for having a better experience in each content, I almost don´t respec, I go 160 con and all my set have the desire ATT that I play.
Crafting is not a money sink. To be a money sink the money actually has to leave the economy and be destroyed. This only happens with fees and expenses paid to the game itself not other players. Taxes go to territory holders. Trading Post purchases go to other players.
Things like Respec, buying things from the faction vendor, buying your house, purchasing mounts and riding skills these are money sinks.
Then you pay to “micro play.” You’re basically describing a playstyle where you don’t accept not being optimal for every single, tiny thing in the game, so you need respec constantly instead of just choosing your strengths and weaknesses and playing as is. That’s fine, and the game lets you do that, but you shouldn’t be able to do that at no cost at all, otherwise choices in the game will have absolutely no meaning.
that works until you find a nice legendary for one set which doesnt have your desired stat
To punish players and to make them waste coin and time.
I just hate that it impacts some players far more than others and that’s not what should happen in a gold sink.
I would respec before every opr and every arena if I could.
The game needs gold sinks, which is why it should also cost gold to open the inventory, transfer items in or out of it, display a character’s appearance and, ideally, cost gold for each step taken, each weapon attack made and each minute spent logged in.
Because hey, the game needs gold sinks.
Doesnt matter , if game put this as feature and want me to have advantages over attiribute perks in gathering and if this game has no class but only attiributes and weapons that means this game allows me and even wants me to swap stuff oftenly. It’s not about optimal or not. This is what game prefers and in this ecosystem , in this attiribute perk/weapon system. Swapping is a need and even a “feature” . And so on 200 coin fee is idiotic.
I play multiple roles in my company and I use attiribute perks for binge gathering runs. And that what game wants me to do, allows me to do. No one talking about what is “optimal” due to your opinion dude.
I think 1 Coin per every step your character runs should be a good coin sink.
If you run out of coin, you get bankrupted and your character gets deleted.
You’re making a big assumption that just because there are no classes then the developers explicitly want people to be respec multiple times a day. It’s a bad assumption, though. One indication that it’s bad is the very thing we’re discussing right here in this thread: respec costs. You’re right, it would be idiotic to have respec costs if the game was designed with the intention that you respec 5, 10, 15 times a day, but since there is a respec cost, either the conclusion is that the developers are all so incredibly stupid that they haven’t even noticed this incongruency, or the conclusion is that they did not in fact design the game with the intention of players respeccing 5, 10, 15 times a day.
Alternatively, you realize that it doesn’t make sense to assume that they want you constantly respeccing and are just mad that you can’t be perfectly optimal in all cases. I think this is pretty likely given that you’re talking about having to respec even just to gather despite being able to gather effectively regardless of whether you’ve got attribute perks for it or not, even if you’d technically get more if you were perfectly optimally set up.
It’s not assumption it’s the reality’s itself. We dont have classes we have attiributes and attiributes not only effects weapons but also gathering. We have so many attiribute perk, so many gathering tool and so many weapon. And we have different equips for different needs that scale with different attiributes ?!?! And there is a “respec” button.
Sooooooooo ?? Logic ? Maybe…
I’m sorry, but it’s a major assumption. Lots of games have respec buttons and give different advantages for different weapons and stats; that doesn’t at all mean that the developers expect you to respec numerous times a day.
What devs expect is not related to anything we argue. They put the mechanism for those “micro-management” and for a “class-less” , “gathering perks over weapon attributes” system. Respec cost is weird. It’s not complimenting what they build.
It’s not an assumption it’s the design of the stuff right over there. And yes I have days that multiple times respecing.
