Why doesn't OPR have free consumables?

You’d use them more if open world PvP was a thing.

Im sitting on 1500+ on infused health potions lol.

They have the bread that gives damage absorption but requires the in game azoth to purchase. They need to make it that when you take a food buff you brought in, let say bacon wrapped scallops increasing str, should remain active even after eating the battle bread. Tired of having to choose between my active attribute food buff vs if I want to eat the battle bread to gain damage absorption buff and losing my attribute buff.

They should strip all the buffs prior to OPR. Allow you buy buy buffs at the tent with OPR currency like they do now, just add more options.

I disagree, consumables should not be “free” at any game mode besides ranked tournament perhaps that we dont yet have. All those potion drops should also be removed.

This whole free consumable campaign has done nothing else than undermine cooking and arcana life skills.

Brother, we only have two game modes in this game. And one of them already has free consumables.

I really don’t understand the pushback here. You think that giving 40 players free consumes for a match devalues cooking and arcana? What about dungeons? Does it not devalue arcana having mobs drop infused potions every two seconds…
And ah yes cooking, totally not that skill that everyone levels just to hit 60 faster… would be a nightmare to have that devalued as a life skill.

OP do you ever check the armory in the forts…
kill 2-3 mobs for azoth in OPR and buy some “free” consumables

I realize there is a shop, but I burn through potions so quickly that I’d be spending half my time killing wolves rather than helping my team.

you really wouldn’t, killing maybe 5 mobs max is probably sufficient
is that really half your time in opr? if so then all matches are being 3 capped lol

There’s triple caps, there’s going down on mid trying to cap while carrying azoth, there’s getting back capped, theres back capping with azoth and there’s buying bread/zephyr cakes for party members. Sure if I wanted to play only near my shops it’s do-able no question about that, but do I really think that people should center their team play constantly thinking about where to spend azoth? No. It’s a waste of time end of discussion.

waste of YOUR time you mean
and no one even bothers to craft health pots anymore, MAYBE regen
you realize how fast it is to get a stack of infused pots nowadays??

over exaggeration and dramatic as hell
let’s just come together and have everyone prepare every little thing for you
lol

You think that’s dramatic? There’s also fresh 60s not even using oakflesh/gemstone/attribute food/honing stones due to lack of money. Welcome to OPR! What are you afraid of even competition among new and old players?

But yeah I’m being catered to by making requesting the game mode to be more accessible to everyone.

Did you have any real argument or are you just gonna rely on personal insults

I usually farm and build up the fort and will often fill storage with battle bread and cakes. Yeah im a builder but once everything is built I join the fight to cap another point to build it up. Just check storage.

I appreciate your work, but having people like you on the team isn’t a consistent thing to rely on.

I think the reason they have free consumes in arena is that it’s such a short duration. And without it, people would likely avoid popping food and consumes for a 3-8 minute engagement. With OPR, since it’s (usually) longer, having consumes makes more sense.

That said, the TP being down has really shown how the drop rate on health potions needs to be nerfed and regen potions needs to be buffed. I had to take my regens off my bar for OPR today because I need to save them for war tonight. Meanwhile, have an entire storage shed of health pots from just dungeon and world drops.

I get that, but in what way would it be harmful for OPR consumes to become free? It sounds like a barrier of entry for fresh 60s by gold alone and it’s not like OPR prints a lot of money in the first place.

I think you could argue it would harm the economy. Without OPR, potions would already be more devalued than they are. People would only need to use food/consumables for War (which not everyone participates in), Invasions (same) and mutations/dungeons. Would screw over anyone who invested in arcana or cooking. Not saying I agree with it, but that’s probably the thinking.

I don’t really understand that thinking. If people who invested into arcana were upset about their skill being devalued they’d complain about mobs dropping infused potions every other bag. Same goes with economy, there’s plenty of other sources, and making potions isn’t exactly a money maker by any means.
