Why in the world are we not allowed to change our look post-creation?

This doesn’t make sense to me. The character creation is already pretty lacking, and I know that most people cover themselves with armor but I like hiding my helmet/not wearing one so I have a real face people can see.

I’m no game developer, but I see no issues that would come up as a result of letting people change their look. Could changing a hair style really break anything? What’s the rationale behind omitting such a useful/easy feature?

My thoughts:

  1. They did this intentionally, because they’re expecting you to buy better customizations in the store.

  2. Why is a game funded by Amazon have character customization worse than Skyrim? A game that came out 10 years ago?

Ooo, that first one makes sense.

I can totally see them charging $4.99 to change your character, or something like that.

If this makes them avoid Pay to Win cash shop, so be it.

It’s obviously the reason why you can’t change it, so you buy something in the shop to be able to custom, and honestly. I’m okay with that.

I just hate pay 2 win, but remember even tho they made a bunch of money, they have to make sure to be able to make it live, so ingame shop for that kind of things is okay. Plus the prices seems not too high. I think they gonna handle this right.

PS : Im not an AGS simp, tbh the game right now make me lose my hairs

The reason the customization is limited is because of server lag for combat. You limited the possible options so rendering characters in large areas of other characters is easier on your PC and server having to send code.

Single player games will always have better customizations… MMOs that give a ton of customizations tend to scale back what other people see…

Now, I may be severely behind in credits for my major, but I’m a computer science student and honestly, with how many other things the game is rendering… this doesn’t seem like it’d be an issue. You’d only have to really render in high def when other player models are close to you. If you do everything with sliders, you can create a very simple algo for what each… option… should look like from different distances.

Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Yeah, im fine with cosmetics honestly.

As long as it remains strictly cosmetics, name change tokens, etc then I am fine with it.

4.99? You sweet summer child. We’re looking at 10.00 to 25.00 bucks.

Maybe the horrible game engine isn’t capable of better options? I have no idea how this made it into the game as it is, so there must be a real reason for it.

This game may have been released as completed, but in some regard in is extremely lacking. Character customization is just one of those things. Sadly a thing I care a lot about, but I lost hope they will improve this aspect of the game.

Please AGS, give me some hope again.

Because there are thounsands of more important things to make, before releasing a game.
It might come someday, its low priority. Put on a helmet, then we cant see your ugly face

That option has not been monetized yet. Be patient.
