While it seems like a quick easy fix for the queue times to login right now, the fact remains not everyone has a pc with the capacity to handle the additional population increase.
It was laggy enough for me in towns at peak times prior to the increase, it would take several minutes to just place things in storage and I run my game on the lowest settings.
My pc? It meets all min requirements and meets 3/4 of the recommended. It’s not top end by any means but it runs most things just fine.
I made sure I’d be able to run this game before I purchased, it is now unplayable. Twice now in the last 10 minutes I have been active in game it has crashed while in a town.
Wouldn’t care so much except then comes the queue timer again. 10 minutes of in game time has equated to nearly two hours of waiting to rejoin on two separate occasions, guess I should just be glad it wasn’t later in the day when the queue is triple what it is now…like last night when this happened…
I appreciate there is efforts being made to rectify this, I’m actually keen to transfer worlds, but that isn’t an option for me right now is it…
Honestly, one of the most disappointing displays of management from a company that isn’t exactly short on the resources to have had this work… nor did they have a shortage on time to plan for this and have something ready.
Let’s hope Bezos doesn’t plan a space mission with the same lack of foresight as this game launch has had.
