Why is BB the facetank weapon?

If the design was burst damage and cc, why does blunderbuss give so much fortification? Other weapons need to block which uses stam and removes stam regen for a second, but BB gets mass fort because it cannot block? If that is the only reason, then ags is making a blunder.

Truly it reminds me of Graves from League of Legends. He has a shotgun, he’s a ranged DPS character who deals a lot of burst damage, and he also gets tanky as he dashes around. I like the design of it providing users with a lot of fortification since it’s a close-ranged weapon, but wish it offered better taunt options for tanks, so they can run it while gaining fortify bonuses & dealing damage. Basically a bruiser type build tbh

It’s simple game balancing.

I am not saying the amount of fortitude is right, but the closer range something is, the higher damage and tankier you need to make it at that closer range.

Yes, simple game balancing for BB to be more tanky than melee players because of short range. That shows how great AGS is at balancing weapons while they also added shirking fort to all armor types for extra balance.

How is it tankier than melee? Roughly 10% fortitude, that’s less than you can get from some of the melee ones from what I remember.

And not having block = less tanky, not more tanky.

Plus aiming with it is harder than aiming with melee.

Blocking is a waste of stam and stam regen most of the time. Its bad and not having it doesn’t mean jack.

Last chance gives 50% fort aka just caps it out.
on a roll can give 15%
fortifying aggression gives 10%

Not when tracking doesn’t exist.

Right, last chance, sorry.

But from my experience the BB is just way harder to hit a moving target with and my point about lack of block stands. Plus lack of sustain.

But maybe I just haven’t come across a broken OP BB build yet.

There are two metas for BB. One is macro the skills and autos to dump damage instantly aka oneshot. The other is a “control” build spamming net shots, maxing out fortify to outlast the other guy, and wait for your other weapon cds. You can literally swap to BB while being stunned and turn into a tank. For both builds, you don’t need to hit a moving target. One shot has a stun set up, and the “control” build can face tank and/or net shot dodge back long enough for other cooldowns.

blocks are almost always bad unless you are running heavy sns. You want the movement from dodges if you are going to lose stam regen anyway.
Sustain is not getting killed then using pots. Its a burst meta for a reason.

It gets hard counted by bow/ranged, so ags probably going to do nothing. “fine if strong in some parts” lmao
