The majority of content in this game is well tuned (well, it is now… it wasn’t). But there are still some examples that are a bit nuts.
The thing that really doesn’t sit well with me is the idea that we’re told something is “5 players” and yet it obviously demands more. To be fair, the only scenario I can think of is the Malevolence encounter. But that’s enough. You can do it in a single group but it takes a stupid amount of time.
Generally speaking though, I think this patch did a great job at getting the mob balance right. No, you cannot nail even Mangled heights as a fresh level 60 player but you can actually solo it if you’re geared enough and have the right build. But most locations are great for a single group to do.
Just because people still zerg open world content and make it boring shit doesn’t mean the content is badly designed. That’s a player issue.
I’d suggest the Mal final event could use some tweaking so a well geared group can take it on. This game doesn’t actually have raid content. I’d suggest they add that if they want content to take more than one group (and I’d welcome that, but suggest it should be instanced like expeditions, not open world; or at least if it is open world then make it very clear it’s for multiple groups).
I don’t recall that a single time. Maybe I missed a crafter whining about WM being too easy though. Care to point a few out? I do recall you whining a lot when they changed their minds on the original gear nerfs though.
trying to elite chest farm is some of slowest unrewarding grind ive yet to see in a game…teeth grindingly moronic…gypsum…a horrid banaid to the bad elite farm…sooo??? expiditions…orb costs destroys that one sooo???
by all means i would LOVE to know to get up to 590 with even moderate work for reward! having played far too many games over the years this is one of the worst feeling grinds even matching and beating most games reputation grinds…no i dont want it handed…but hitting 20 chests hoping for a tiny bump 1 out of 10 times is not content of any value…
It’s kinda freaky how people have taken to defending a clearly unfinished product and… yeah I dunno. Why would AAAs try when people will pay for partial work?
i feel myrk and palace has a few mobs that cant be completed in 5 man groups as you said aswell as a few mobs (bear and maybe worm) in pools but pools might feel like that because its mainly for the blue refining mats
Since lvling my character, most likely since like lvl 20, I learned that all quests with (Elite) in their name are not soloable. I think that’s design.
This is what elite zones are for You should not be able to solo it.
You play this game for questing? Are you for real? Do you really need a questline to progress in this game? Would be funny to see what you do at lvl 60. Quitting probably.
What next? Leveling up maybe? Like in every other MMO? Or do you need a dedicated person to guide you through every aspect of this game?
Interesting take. You’re clearly smarter and better than me.
I will just quit now because you sure showed me. I literally cannot counter anything you just said. it was so incredibly intuitive, intelligent and helpful.
I see that I need to rethink my entire life.
I hope you have kids one day so they become as valuable as you are.
That literally sounds like a you problem. As if you just want to be able to steam roll on through just because you’re lvl 60 and the mobs are 58. Unlike other games the mobs can still actually kill you if you try to just afk.
I…don’t think the content requires Zergs, actually. Elite content does require cooperation and teamwork, yes, but people think they need 20 or 40 people like before, and that’s not the case anymore. You can in fact 2v the entire section of Scorched Mines, Malevolence, and even Myrkguard. The requirements to do this is:
-A great Tank
-someone with DPS
Now the latter is easy to find, but the former? That’s going to be a bit of a challenge.
