Just curious and now sure as to the logic of this. By thinking about the weapon itself, and looking at the skills, it seems like it is 100% a strength based weapon. Wondering why you would choose this as an equal split between Strength and Dexterity? I personally think Dex should be secondary. Even the skills don’t make any sense as a dex based weapon?
By looking at skills and size of said weapon I would say it should be STR/CON based. It’s a damn anime style chopper. You would need a lot of strength to swing it like that and consitution to not get tired after one or two attacks. Also, CON would be used for something more than 5k HP and 10% armor.
Probably because the bulk of weapons already scale off str/dex, making the new content more accessible to builds. I don’t think any other attribute scaling would make sense
Constitution is a defensive stat. Why would a weapon scale off this?
Those of us who do more than grit lmb to win were terrified greatsword would just be str. Kudos to the devs for the even scaling on str/dex. It seems like a versatile weapon that will shake up a lot of dynamics.
Even in low level after testing it, it felt amazing.
But I feel like when we test it in full scale with 625GS and at max level with bis perks we’ll see the same results as when the Void Gauntlet came out.
In my opinion for ranges still spear or rapier will be better option, melees like GA or SnS will get strong heavy dps weapon. We will see. I am looking forward to see whar next weapon will be probably daggers I can bet scaled with dex and focus/int cuz we dont have weapons for this stats yet.
IMO there should’ve been a STR/FOC weapon in this game by now. LS users still stuck with VG (still needs a good amount of INT for viability) or rapier (for only utility, no scaling). Pure copium on my end but maybe the paladin-esque builds will be a thing in 2023-2024 assuming healers are still playing the game by then.
Equal split with STR/Dex would be a horrible design and hard to balance at all. Just imagine bow/gs. They will hit you hard at 100m away and when you finally reach them, they can switch to gs and deal the same or even more dmg then a bruiser. They do not even need to run away and kite anymore. I wonder how would that be balanced. It would be king at both ranged and closed combat with all the cc and self-healing. I bet in 2 months, there will be no other build. We will see.
VG being the only option for LS at this state of the game is just disheartening, while every STR DEX and INT have many options to choose. I wonder why BB was specifically STR/INT scaling, with AGS stating they wanted more weapon diversity but then release GS with (yet another) STR/DEX weapon.
