Hi @Crazitomali, May I ask you some questions please so that I can better understand your position?

  1. what do you want from the game ? Is this casual fun for you or is this competitive play ?
  2. Do you want it to be easy to instantly kill players in this game ? Or should instantly killing a player take high skill and a high risk of being killed yourself?
  3. Do you want weapons to have strengths and weaknesses ? Or do you want 1 weapon to do basically everything (cc, mobility, self heals, grit , damage)
  4. Do you want a stagnant meta or do you want a shifting meta ?

DPS cannot do 8k damage every 3 seconds minus burst.

Yeah. Because there’s 40 of you in a war and there’s 10 healers.

Also, there’s been 10 minimum per war. Not trying to prove anything, just saying.

  1. Both! When im playing alone i play intensely at a competitive level. But when my wife is online we casually play together.

  2. The former - if you are a highly powerful player and you take a high risk. You should be rewarded. To clarify i dont think any instant kill mechanics should be in the game. My gripe specifically revolves around the lack-thereof hit registration. This is a game where if you are playing melee, if you cant burst your target down in a moments notice, they will surely get away. Rather this is a good thing or not im not debating. Just pointing out this is how it is.

  3. Weapons to have strengths and weaknesses. The great axe weakness is that its slow and easy to dodge. However its strength comes from locking someone down and inflicting massive damage if they connect their hits.

  4. Im indifferent. Ive never played a meta class. Classes i play become the meta… as mentioned i was ga/ig for several months before it became meta. And before that i was ls/ga. Before all the ls nerfs happened.

if GA/WH are both melee then hatchet rapier should be called something else - the problem is that this game has amazing potential but doesn’t focus on the differences, it focuses on balancing completely different game styles.

GA/WH in a 1:1 should lose to hatchet or rapier 100% of the time… a light healer should use dodge to evade, where-as a heavy healer should expect to outlast the “melee”… nerfing the healing aspect of the class is ridiculous, just like saying a light player can hit for more damage than a heavy… a heavy shouldn’t be able to dodge at all, not have less damage. Balance needs to be about having pros and cons in a specific build vs making all builds the same.

bit extreme prob not 100%. with hatchet as a GA/WH in a 1v1 it is not something that can be traded with head on like VB.

For rapier i think it has to be taken into considerations that it is typically a ranged secondary and if ranged can have a high chance of wining in close range and have the ranged advantage its pretty unfair. also if rapier is going to get an offensive buff its defensive capabilities are going to need to be toned down.

Worse than this problem is super simple to solve, but they want to force players to play with a very low ping. This problem happens because they think that everyone has an internet with 0-20 ms and that they can make small hitboxes and with low homing.
The worst design decision I’ve ever seen in a game and it looks like it was created to annoy gamers rather than make for engaging gameplay. DEVs like to make annoying mechanics all the time.

If you think GA has bad hit registration, don’t try rapier (blood tree) or spear. It’s like the difference between a firehose and a squirt gun.

I get your point, all I’m saying is that if you make GA/WH a crowd control weapon then a 1:1 weapon (hatchet rapier) should win 1:1 but be less effective vs situations requiring crowd control.

Buff the crowd control for GA/WH… and buff Hatchet / Rapier for 1:1 DPS… etc

This is what is missing in New World. Specialization because they want, “homogenized freedom between weapon choices.”

Not all weapons should have everything. If that is the case then go with 6 abilities and ONE weapon. Get rid of the two weapon system.

If you want a two weapon system then specialize each one. Don’t do a one size fits all. Overtime they stop fitting.
