Why is no one complaining about Desync?

It’s not perfect but it seemed to work a lot! Before this patch melee was unplayable, 99% of your attacks wouldn’t do damage, every time you used an ability you would teleport away from the enemy while your ability did nothing to the enemy. Now melee seems to actually work!

with the desync issues I was bottom of the game in OPR playing GA/WH, now I am top 10 easily. Reap and maelstrom actually do something again and work! It’s amazing! Like I said, it’s still not perfect but it’s a step in the right direction and works sooo much better than it did!

Personally, I found that the desync was much worse last night right after the patch. Would it be possible for you to pass on to the devs the suggestion that they try testing with people in different regions? e.g. try pvp someone while they are physically logged into the game from far away. This could be anecdotal evidence but my personal experience has been that I desync less with people in my region (Sydney) than with players playing in Thailand, Vietname etc. Obviously we are playing on the same server but sometimes it feels the game prioritises other players datastream over mine (I’ve duelled people who micro teleport every few moments but who report no such thing from their side).

we tested a lot of things. on a hill there is much less desync. on flat ground everything is rubberbanding und buggy.

I have posted about this lol, feels like a latency issue, reminds me of counterstrike servers where you shoot someone pointblank but it doesn’t register.
Very noticable as a melee player ga/wh, even though I usually place top 5 in opr, I still feel the desync the entire time in the arena, and I have to adjust my playstyle as a result.

I wouldn’t hold your breath on a fix for this.

AGS with this new patch made it worse…my hits don’t register, yet i hear the sound they hit on the enemy next to me…

Yup game is officially unplayable after almost 1000 hours. Between the changes to the bow and the desync that causes 70% arrows not to register now. It’s not fun anymore.

People quit over the desync issue, which is why it is not as common as a complaint as it should be on the forums. As a player, you are eventually led to believe one of two things:

  1. The devs arent listening to this complaint/problem.

  2. The problem is unfixable. Thats just the way the game is gonna be.

So players just move on…

Change setting in options to “High Bandwidth” & turn off telemetry data sharing.

are you a melee or range player, and by changing those ‘settings’ are you seeing 100% hit registration from 20% hit registration?

As stated it’s still an issue after patch.

I’ve also been experiencing worse hit detection in PvP since 1.2.2.

I’ll add that even on PvE stuff like beasts, many times with the VG blade I see and even hear that i’ve hit the npc but their health stays the same.

The lag, rubberbanding, and weapon swapping bugs kill the fun of PvP. But AGS has let it go on for so long. I wonder what the dev team is thinking.

This is why I never like doing anything PvP related, even OPR…

I saw the tentative fix note, and almost was silly enough to get my hopes up that wars may be semi playable again, of course nobody had a war with us yesterday to test so I have to wait until tonight to try. I guess I will plan for a rough half hour again huh? :confused:

The dysnc is horrible, you tie that in with roots, and you’re just teleporting around. It makes me not even want to play sometimes :frowning:
