Why is there a timer for dungeons?

(This took place about 15 minutes ago).

My group which was mostly first timers for this dungeon (Garden of Genesis) received a 5 minute warning that the expedition was ending during the last boss. And around 20% left of the bosses health we were booted out cause we ran out of time.

It’s frustrating to have spent all that time learning the mechanics and figuring it all out to just be booted like that.

I just don’t understand the thought process behind it. It takes so long to make a key and to put a timer on the dungeon as well?

If possible, please remove the timer in the future.

If it takes you 3 hours to finish genesis. Well mate
 bad news

Moreover, as they say mounts wouldn’t bĂ© realistic for the World or whatever, I think that being kicked out of a dungeon is totally irrealistic, especially knowing how much you wanted to finish it.
If it were somme real life stuff, I wouldn’t leave a place I’d have put so much energy into after
 12 jours at l’East.

If your excuses are to have a “lore environment” for some things, stay coherent

Yes. We were learning all the mechanics. Taking short breaks in between. And spent a good 2k in repairs from all the deaths. (Each).

We were very determined to finish lol. It was all good fun and laughs trying to figure stuff out and thinking up strategies. Until we saw the timer saying the expedition was closing. :frowning:

If you are kicked you lose the key?

And I think that the timer should stop on the final boss and is the players decision to finish or not.

Enrage timer.

Lets be real here and say that’s a long time to be in a dungeon my friend

Maybe so. But I’ve been in dungeons on elder scrolls online for 5 hours before and we don’t get kicked.

Yes. The key was lost.

wth
 this is so bad.

ESO doesnt have an enrage timer but they do have a hard mode. Give us hardmode AGS.

Exact same thing happened to us couple of nights ago. We were all new to Genesis and wanted to explore it and figure out the boss fights for ourselves. Checking every room, nook and cranny for possible hidden chests or anything. We finally nail down the mechanics for the last boss and yep, booted from the instance mid fight as we race to beat the timer. What a load of crap. Punishing players for not learning the dungeon run via Youtube, even though we all decided to do it this way and noone cared about taking so long. We didn’t even realise we were in that long, we were having fun, and then just got shit on because you can’t figure out a decent method to prevent people farming bosses and just slap a bandaid on instead.

We returned next day and completed it in less than an hour. But this 3 hour limit totally discourages more casual players from actually having fun and forces everyone in to speedrun mode, no breaks for you, parents ignore your kids while you go hardcore sweaty speed through a dungeon for a chance at getting something good.

We’re still planning on farming this expedition, but now we just have a sour memory for our first experience. So thanks for that AGS.

i agree with you. Its an unneccesary feature noone needs. Same as the " 500 different items in storage cap" feature. Made to piss people off

Wait what? Didn’t know that. Anyway
they should remove the timer. What exactly is the purpose of it? It’s astonishing how hard they try to make these endgame dungeons worthless.
