When you don’t agree with something, leaving is a good option.
If you don’t agree with the mergers, say goodbye, and if possible, without crying because nobody cares about your tears.
Losing 1k players doesn’t affect us in the slightest. It is more important to have full and live servers than 10 empty servers.
I agree totally as a PVE only player
I imagine most pve tend to lean social and pvp less so. Would need to sample players in game.
But yes part of that is also by game design. You cant pvp pnly in this game and compete. They force you to pve so depending in the poll wording it may not represent players in vame attitudes well.
A lot of player feedback has been provided. Mountains upon mountains of it. Part of the frustration is poor logic being used in design choices repeatedly in the same vein while ignoring player feedback to improve the game.
Its not all bad by any means but players have been saying the jog sim war conflict bar push has been garbage since day 1. They only made it worse by making some of the missions be spread out in different directions. They actually made it worse instead of making it a better experience.
Too much competition is going to be coming to the market. The game needs to fix core gameplay loop issues and not take half measures or small nudges to fix completely dysfunctional systems (crafting, territory ownership and faction missions to push conflict, etc.).
Players have a llt more options for gheur entertainment than was available online a decade ago.
It asked how the player identiried on a spectrum of choices from pvper who refuses to pve to i like them both to exclusive pve and more between.
In regards to New World or games in general?
It was targeted at New World players only but asked the question in a general sense. Which should apply and be consistent with how those players approach new world.
Sample size isn’t phenomenal but at the time this was taken the forums were literally littered with nothing but people claiming everyone was there to PVP and no one cared about PVE. My assumption was the poll would sku that way but it didn’t which I thought was odd that it pulled so far back towards PVE players.
A lot of this depends on the game you play. I play some games for pvp and others for pve. A lot of players play games for what the games do well and is the most fun to repeat. But yes, there is a much larger contingent of people that don’t like the stress of pvp and will abstain than players who refuse to do any pve (much harder to adhere to in mmo’s in general).
I like pvp and pve content in Albion. In NW I mostly like PVP/Wars. In Runescape I really only cared for PVE, etc. as examples.
I don’t know if general polls explain the type of players New World has and is geared for via their current content. That may change over time though. I personally find getting spam stunned/staggered by pve to be a lousy experience so I don’t enjoy the pve in this game especially since they almost always have grit or ignore cc. I don’t find that fun personally to repeat. Also, having to hammer mobs for minutes to kill them is not empowering, it feels like a drag and a tedious endeavor. Doing pve in this game feels like a slog, where as I don’t mind pve in other games where the combat design is different.
Me and my friends bought the game only because of PvE. We aren’t really playing anymore because the game lacks meaningful PvE content. As soon as they implement any good PvE content I’ll come back playing. For example I came back for the winter event and now I’m gonna come back for the summer event too.
Why would they bot in their own game? Could literally spawn gold lmao.
If the poll is conducted of only new world players then the poll is representative of new world which that one was. People dont play a game that doesnt meet their playstyle, they go play something else.
Yeah, that’s kind of the point. The development time it takes to create quality pve in this game is very long and doesn’t hold pve player attention for long per content piece released. When I look at WoW streams of dungeons the environments look like they were could be created in a short amount of time as there is little detail and its highly replicable surface they use.
Creating an open world pvp environment is a much faster route to get the player base #s off the mat. All they have to do is provide carrots to fight over and make it so that they can’t be earned while not flagged for pvp. Players will log on to that sandbox pvp content near endlessly as long as the carrots are a fun chase.
Then the game can work on pve development which is scales player base. My only hesitation is the server and game engine. I have doubts that the gme can support open world group fighting. If they know it can’t and they can’t overcome that issue then I would think going pure pve with their efforts would be the better decision. Introduce some more instanced pvp over time but focus mainly on pve and just tell the players what direction they plan on going with the game.
Late , but totally agree. The PVP is actually the garbage side to this game. the same map, the same weapons rotaion, the same, the same , the same, in every match. Very boring. The wars and territory I completely agree with also. Mega guilds/USD sellers, and those that have no job an no life that sit 24/7 take away from all games. It s sad but the only way to get rid of it is to get rid of currency and trade. Wish someone would make a game again thats about the game and not about trading/buying. A game worth playing. The PVE is this game, thats why opr takes long times to go in and the chat is spammed with dungeon runs. This is a PVE/pvp based game. And the pvper s dont want to accept that. If there was no pve in this game it’d of not ever got play time from %70 for more than 2 weeks…
And the game lost almost all of them when it switch to being a PvE gear to Win PvP game. Like it is now. The people left now will more than likely stay even if the game fucks them sideways. They continue to say everything is fine as they are the last thousand players left playing.
Agreed, except I would add that an equal issue is RMT, item/gold dupe, or territory tax racket to win hurt the game massively as well.
The game systems dashed the idea of an even pvp playing field right away.
Ags listen to me well. Do you have a comprehension problem? Why did you merge all the servers? We told you to don’t merge servers. All you have to do is "joint trading post, opr etc
OR
One world system
The RMT issue is a symptom of the biggest issue plaguing this game. It’s a PvP game where it takes hundreds if not thousands of hours of PvE grind. To have decent gear. In order stand a chance against others with good or BiS gear. And the gear grind is 85% RNG based at <0.001% odds.
