lowest queue during prime time is 2,5k for us
They are already working on a solution to the queue times and they are dropping rapidly. If nothing was being done about it AFKers would have a leg to stand on but as queue times decrease every day they really donât. Come server transfer time anybody still doing it is just being greedy and inconsiderate
My server at max has a 1200 queue during prime time⌠maybe a 1 to 2 hour wait.
Yet in EVERY single settlement you will see more than 10 people afk running into the wall.
You find them in open world too in various areas. The real annoying thing about it is during a majority of the day there is ZERO queue. They are literally creating the problem.
I 100% think the first time a slap on the wrist, but if they insist on doing it over and over⌠yup ban them for a few days.
Amazon has created a solution for the problem, they locked servers and will be allowing free transfers off over populated worlds.
If your server has a 10k queue its time to transfer with your friends or company because on 2250 are playing out of that 10k⌠you could fill 4 more servers with the queue on some of those servers.
They have stopped signups on the most populated servers too. I deleted my toon on olympus last night because I hated the name. I couldnt remake a toon on the server after he was gone because signups were locked.
Thanks to some of you for being sane and thoughtful individuals. I hope to see you in Aeternum one day!
Look i get the frustration, i still think they are selling the solution to a problem they created in the first place. The afk exploiter for sure make it harder to get rid of the problem. I blame all, people that stay in game while sleeping being at work, but also AGS for not providing anywhere near the amount of slots u would need for a smooth release. Even tho they got all the data to back it up.
As Iâve said in a few posts AGS is the root cause of the problem, but until they fix what they created we all have to do our part.
For sure and the better AFK kick ,even tho it already kicked people that were fishing, will help and kicking these players is totally fair, but people demand permabans which is kinda hard for a problem that is created by AGS. They would even legitimize such permabans with the hate folks spread on the forum right now.
That is why said we all should calm down a bit. Everybody is free to report me for my 3 hours of afk time i exploited they can even check it pretty easy in the log because i was in the house at the time.
I just wanna raise awareness to the real problem so people dont spread the hate like it is right now. People are toxic enough without heating it up even further for no reason.
I completely agree with you on this one. People shouldnât have to time their sacred end-of-the-dungeon crap on the porcelain throne.
Also yea, the people staying afk all night are the reason this rule exists. Sucks that few mess it up for the rest.
Oh I certainly donât agree with the vitriol being spread. Iâve tried to calmly explain how being afk is being inconsiderate and even perhaps childish to an extreme. If somebody doesnât get it at that point well Iâm not going to waste my breath.
Unfortunately youâre right and there has been a sore lack of level-headedness and calm debate.
Its really the people who continue to abuse the system after being told what they are doing is wrong that I take a major issue with.
Thatâs the way life goes.
Rules are made for the 3% of the population that canât be considerate and have a little common sense like the other 97%
I agree with u there. I am telling you about my missbehaviour because i felt like there is no other way to even play at the little time i got at the weekend, when the majority of the community think i need to get banned for 24hours , because i raise awareness here and dont want the topic to destroy the community feeling even more, i will deal with it.
I was never sitting 8 hours in game without doing anything. The 3 hours total i did it is fair to me for the fact that i just wanted to enjoy something i paid for.
I can deal with it still i will not change my opinion on how AGS is the source of the problem in the first place.
Threatening AFK players would have gone over better if we already had a way to transfer servers.
There were 0 servers with 0 queue at launch, so my guild didnât consider changing to a lower pop server. AGS fault.
We canât transfer servers. AGS fault.
You donât have to do anything illegal to avoid afk flag. Dropping a controller on the floor is not macroing. AGS fault.
Comically low population caps for 2021. AGS fault.
Trying to blame players in this scenario is embarrassing.
Nobody is blaming players for the lack of available slots to play. Nobody in their right mind would. However everyone deserves a shot at playing the game and if all 2000 people in your server did what you suggested you would never play again.
How would you feel then?
Cry some more, it will really make your argument better.
The alternating caps, the presupposition that I said one has more âworthâ than the other⌠youâre projecting and itâs not a good look. You might get some likes on here for your incoherent drivel, but youâre still wrong.
You need all types for a successful ecosystem. Get ahold of yourself and toughen up buttercup.
Indeed, you hit the hammer on the head!! Agree with every point you made!!
Amazon should have created a system where we can change, or shouldâve limited number of people joining a server up front⌠As in:
They shouldâve made sure people could create companies up front, or during any of the Betaâs and then direct certain companies to certain servers, something like thatâŚ
with the servers capped at ~2000 and there being gaming communityâs/companyâs of friends 200-300 strong having a A and B Company on a server all they are trying to do is play together on the new âMMOâ rpg the mmo part is missing, moving servers donât really solve much apart from forcing friends that came here from other games to stop playing together as to the running into walls i cant say i blame people it is not our fault the servers are too small
Currently it looks like afk players were creating the problem they were claiming to be reacting to, or at the very least it looks like they were exacerbating the problem. The queue on Sunday looked high but went by very quickly. Queue currently looks the same today, where its getting higher but players are moving through it faster.
2000 slots servicing (for example) ~400 queueâd players is going to accommodate them faster than if there were only (for example) only 1500 slots because 500 of the slots are occupied by afk players.
Of course the desired state would be that there are no queues for anyone, but weâll see how this stabilizes over the coming weeks. To me it feels like its getting better already, and tomorrow the game will have only been released for one full week.
Simplistic thinking - thatâs not how reality is.
For instance today, I launched the queue at 16:30 from work in hope to be able to play when Iâm back home, I actually got in game at 19:30 ! But then it was time for dinner ! So I should have logged out and wasted those 3 hours waiting and also all my chances of playing that evening ? No way. Thankfully, I have âMoonlightâ on my tablet, so I just took it near my seat when I was eating and sometimes tapped the screen to move a bit and not be logged out. Dinner took me approx. 45 minutes.
So yeah, I wasnât actively playing even though monitoring the game all the time, but I donât think I was a big criminal for wanting to be able to play a couple of hours after dinner after having waited for 3 hours in a queue.
Note to self: tomorrow, queue much earlier.
You canât have a server with an input queue of more than 15 minutes and ban the AFK-run.
If you have to leave the keyboard and use AFK-Run, it is by obligation. Nobody wins with this practice.
The player has the PC using its resources, and the server has the slot occupied.
It overwhelms me not being able to close the game and open it whenever I want, but if I have 2 hours to play and I have to leave in those 2 hours 2 times ⌠AFK-Run.
