I’m not asking you to show ME these constant high-damage hits…I’m saying you should show the devs and entire community. After all, you want a change that effects the entire game so I feel it would be fair to actually highlight your grievances with these outlandish damage numbers through a video rather than “I’m being killed by GA/WH all the time doing a gazillion damage - plz nerf”.
You were the one saying you were killed half the time by an axe doing 2-4k hits. Shouldn’t be hard to show the devs that and assist in rebalancing.
I’m also suspecting that a 4k hit will show you being rended, in light armor, with their back to them in a full glass cannon build. That scenario is not a GA problem, unfortunately. That’s a you problem. With that positioning and setup a bow will probably top over 6k damage yet you say the bow is lackluster too.
Your entire standpoint and backup data is super confusing for the devs.
I have 610GA crit/crit dmg 605 FURY 300str/200con. I hit 1k on light, 500 on heavy both war and opr. As ga/wh, you become a tank/crowd control after all the nerf they did. Thats why most people left. Devs don’t know how to balance a game lol. VG still no nerf. Good luck
That would have had to be 3 stacks of empower and a honing stone to even get that and most of my stuff dont hit for 3.8K I might be lucky get 3.8k with a keen and vicious axe with 3 stacks of empower(5% per stack for 5 seconds),deaths embrace (10% armour penetration against enemies under 50% health ), Bloodlust (15% empower and 20% haste while looking at an enemy) and a powerful honing stone and thats on a critical hit I might get 3.8K to a person in light armour when I’m in medium at 622GS. Its not the Great axe tree its self that makes it strong its the perks that you can get on the weapons I mean even a rapier can out DPS my Great axe atm due to they can hit me 3 times per my 1 swing, I mean damn you would have to have a BiS axe to be hitting 4K and over and thats usually got thwarting strikes which is 11% extra damage when you have grit, also you have to apply things like resilient which lowers your crit damage to nearly nothing if they have a full resilient set like alot of people in my company have which is like 24% less damage from crits, so either you have 0 resilience on your gear or that great axe has BiS perks
Lol …when I watched the last Devs video and when they sayd the #1 weapon is still hatchet I was like "yea right’’. I’m playing OPR every day and the most players are still using GA/WH. I see 2-3 players who are using hatchets and this is it.You have 15-20 players who are using GA/WH at least on my server and I think this is the same on other servers.Do I need to explain why??? I guess not since Devs are playing GA/WH and they making sure this weapons will be balance good against any other weapons.
Your server is very different from mine…or the one I was on just before it. Most melee have been gone for months now. There’s only a handful on a side often times, and many of those are now running hatchets, spears, and swords. It makes it very hard to take a point because there’s nobody willing to jump in first since the ga/wh meta is over. I’d say on average there are more VG’s in any given OPR I play than great axes. And I just transferred to one of the big servers people are congregating to in my region, and have run 15+ OPR in the last couple days.
And as for the person screaming about a 4k hit from, the only way you’re getting hit for 4k is if you’re getting hit by a heavy attack, and if you’re in light armor getting hit by a GA heavy, lol. I have a 625 great axe and I hit full glass cannon lights for 3k crits, and since the meta on my server is magic, I’m pretty sure I only hit that high because people are likely running elemental resist gems.
Its a constant ploy by some GA users, of which there are many obviously, to pretend you’ve been nerfed to the point where it’s just not feasible to play any more.
Irrespective of all the people who continue to play it. You can stop with the pretence, those who are still playing OPR/Wars are all aware of what it is. Funny thing was you begrudgingly admit it was “maybe OP”. I’m sure you thought that at the time as well.
It’s an average dps weapon that offers some mobility and aoe with high cooldowns. Take the aoe away from it when fighting against range players or another high dps weapon like hatchet or rapier and you get a bad weapon.
