FFXIV with a 400h main campaign to even get to max level and ESO with its Paragon system that is way grindier than NWâs expertise system are probably not the best one to shit on NW with.
âŚsoon as i saw the title of the thread i knew who would be the first replyâŚ
Also, imo, BDO is trashâŚ
hard grind? Please, Join the fishing aptitude 250 club
True, but the huge difference is 5% total stats between a Legendary and 2Gold Exotic weapon. A person with under 30 hours grinded in GW2. Can compete and completely dumpster a 10,000 hour PvEer with Full Legendary gear trying to step into PvP.
In New World itâs hundreds if not Thousands of hours of PvE to get to start the game. GW2 have multiple dimensions of progression.
- PvP Progression
- PvE casual Progression
- Raid Progression
- FoTM Progression
- WvW Progression
- Cosmetic Progression (Hence the dubbed name ~Fasion Wars~)
If you want to be a better PvP player in GW2. You hone your mechanical skills, not your gear.
If you want to look better in GW2. You have massive amounts of grind ahead of you for cosmetics. Even though that being the case. in GW2 there is many different avenues you can take to meet your cosmetic goals.
Based on your logic, extreme language, and impatience/entitlementâŚIâm guessing that youâre in your early twenties. The game has a grind and we all knew it. I donât understand the outrage. Most of us donât want things just handed to us. Either way, the grind has been greatly reduced since launch.
idk man, comparing wow and destiny 2 i feel like the gate for endgame activities is way higher in those games.
Nothing on Old school runescape
I donât mind fun multiple dimensions of grind. But two to four boring chores to be repeated for hundreds or thousands of hours if Iâm not RNG carried. Is where MOST gamers clearly draw the line.
More so when that game was sold having the total opposite.
i mean i got 1.7k hrs now, working full time 8 hrs ( shift work ) sometimes 10hrs aswell
kinda works stillâŚ^^
MMO.
Also this game has a very forgiving grind. Especially right now.
LastStraw more like LastStrawMan.
Link your hours played and show off your character gear/skills/etc.
Spending more time doing menial tasks in a game does not make you a âhard workerâ. Not wanting to do arbitrary bullshit the devs built in the game to slow people down does not make people âlazyâ.
Thereâs a reason MMOs have become one of the most niche gaming genres, and itâs because the developers keep catering the game to the lowest common denominator; Bad players with a lot of free time. What a horrible demographic to take pride in.
Seems like youâve got some issues with yourself to unpack.
This Game is everything but Not grindy.
The problem with the grind is that itâs unrewarding and frustrating. If youâre gathering and every where you go the shit is gone itâs a waste of time. If you do gather everything you need, all you do is craft whatever you want, then scrap it and do it all over again, and again, and again.
I do like the expertise grind though, since you can increase your expertise while youâre actually playing vs run to node A. run to EF. craft. salvage. repeat⌠If there was at least a chance that during the grind youâd get something even moderately useful it would be fun, but for the most part from 0 - 200 is a complete and utter waste of time for the sake of wasting time.
In Most other games you grind till you reach the max lvl of the crafting Skill. Craft one Item for yourself and you are done. If you are one of the First Players who reached max crafting Skill Level you can maybe sell some items but thats it.
Here you can sell even your Trash items to someone. In other games everything besides max Level items are Trash and Nobody buys them.
