This isn’t the ONLY game to botch a launch… I will say it is the worse one.
The player based declined each update by the way, it has yet to increase . Again, 100% accurate statistics available from steam since they only use Steam . 1.10 didn’t bring anyone back. It’s been a steady decline.
YES. I think AGS has to get their S#*% together.
I think 1.12 is a major step in the right direction.
I think time gates are too much.
I think there needs more end game content.
I think PvP balance needs to be address constantly. With SMALLER adjustments like the one with Axes as opposed to 17 nerfs to mages.
I think the RNG on crafted goods is bad for business.
All of these things are moving in the right direction. Its not perfect, but AGS listens to customers…

I dont know how much evaluation AGS does from people that have stopped playing. The ones still playing dont give feedback why the others have left or stopped.
So go and ask people that have stopped between 1-30
Go and ask people that have stopped between 30-60
Go and ask people that have stopped after 60
Go and ask why people are still playing
Each group will probably give different reasons why they did not play further or are still playing.
What we all know and see is that there is a lack of new players joining the game. It would significantly reduce the downwards spiral of player numbers if new players picked up the game, but they dont. So you need to get some data why they do not pick up the game.
And I assume most of them which were kind of interested but did not pick it up were relying on some feedback in anykind (Web news, Reddit, Forums, other Players, Reviews on Steam etc.). And if you look at the average tendency of this game Reputation it mostly has a Negative “do not pickup this game”.
So as long as there are no positive news about the game maybe also some streamers / influencers / journalists stating… “get back into it, it has this and that new things bla bla” like it was the case in No mans sky.
As long as this game only fumbles around with only the existing players it will have an overall decreasing playership (it is natural that people just move on to other games and so on, but usually this is compensated with new players).
So as a developer I would focus on "how do we get new players or old players that stopped somewhere in the middle to return, while the ones having done everything still have something to grind on (like i.e. the town reputations, you could bind for example skins to certain town reputation ranks, that would be already enough for hardcore grindheads).
Anyone that has even a basic grasp of psychology can see the emotional borderline rage spilling through with that opening line . The capital “LOL” you had to willfully do, the excessive use of ellipses, the various coping mechanisms and intellectually dishonest debate tactics you’ve tried to deploy . You can say what you want, but… anyone with a modicum of intelligence can see how worked up you are right now lol.

I’m sorry, I thought you were intelligent enough to understand that when I said that was incorrect because these are the official forums and not a 3rd party forum. I then linked information that supported this.
I also thought by linking the Steam statistics and saying you had no basis for assuming people would come back just because of the update when the feedback was overwhelmingly negative you understood that this was directly addressing your opinion and refuting it. The data shows that not a single update has increased the number of players.

Nah man lol. I’m a pothead lol I rarely get angry. I also tend to disassociate a lot. My emoji choices are from decades of mutual misunderstandings communicating online. Words actually only make up a small percentage of communication. Tonality and body language are actually the biggest factors in successful communication. I’ve embraced this principal and encorporated it into my online communications long ago.
