It will bring old players back…for a while.
I started playing again to get ready for Brimstone and all the things that annoyed me a year ago seem to be mostly fixed.
-House weekly rent is cheaper
-Teleporting is cheaper
-All banks are linked with free transfer
-Gearscore is easier to farm with daily gypsum quests
-Group Finder for expeditions
But without more endgame stuff and just daily grinds, people will leave again just as fast
They also need to fix
-Insane about of bots
-Everyone is running light armour only (they need to make Medium and Heavy worth using again)
Nope. It will give new world streamer attention and a resurgence of player for about 2 months maximum. If we dont see any improvements to PvP in terms of new content or QoL improvements such as teambalancing etc in that time period then very quickly the majority of those new players who quit back then will quit again.
Brim is a good oppertunity, but on its own is not enough by a long shot.
But New World is not a PvP game
its a PvX game. new world cannot survive without the PvP. That is what keeps players mostly entertained. Everything else are side activities for the majority.
You are wrong. But believe what you like and repeat those opr to your hearts content
PvP is what keeps players interested. PvP is the reason why people grind the PvE stuff. Why doesnt PvP reward as much umbrals etc as PvE? becuase if it did nobody would do the pve stuff.
PvP is stale and boring atm. we lack gamemodes. Brimstone will keep players entetained for a short period. The hardcores will complete every single piece of content in brimstone the first week. The hyper casuals will complete it all within 2 months maximum. Then its back to the same old badly designed OPR with no balancing and unpleasant experience.
How long you think people gonna stick around who orginally quit then? ![]()
If you don’t mind, could you show me the data to back that up? I’d also like to see which patches so far have brought players interest back into the game. The numbers seem to prove the exact opposite of what you’re saying if we look at the big PvP patch vs this upcoming PvE patch.
To be fair, no patches brought anyone back until Medley Fair.
You dont get it do you. Sure pve brings back players because like i said 99% of the playerbase is PvX.
But like I said. new world cannot survive without PvP and once the fresh car smell fades from the new content and all the majority is left with is a stale ass old OPR map with badly designed gameplay. They will quickly dip over to better games. It happened before and it will happen again.
And I want to see your data which contradicts my statement. Back up your words. I’ve been here since alpha 1. I’ve seen every single step of the process of why this game went from the most hype and talked about mmo to being a wet noodle.
Not long at all. But my opinions are my own. Want to hear others as it is possible they have thought of something I did not.
But to keep it real Sir Jiggy NW is not a PvP game. It is a world grind with a PvP option. If it was a PvP game why aren’t there more PvP maps? Why are PvP rewards so territrash? Why isn’t there a more dynamic system for territory control and conflict? I could go on for days fella
Why is the true endgame (wars) pvp then? why is the only way to hold territory pvp? Why is the tradepost items worth the most pvp items? Why is every streamer only streaming pvp content?
I could go on. Its a PvX game. And the PvP is essential.
Looks like it’s been surviving just fine this whole time. At least from my server, PvE is always populated while people have to beg others to join PvP like OPR and Arenas. Guess it’s just your server.
Sorry but you are the one in the wrong
If PvP was the biggest part of New World, you absolutely would be right about them developing much more into it, like they’re doing with PvE. It’s interesting to see where they’re putting in the most work and what’s actually holding players.
if a match of opr gave 6k umbral shards you wouldnt ever find a dungeon group. Believe that
You would think, but then the entire town income structure is designed to give pvp everthing in throve at the cost and expense of huge time syncs of menial labor to make coin from pve players and crafters. The same absolutely obscured systems are still in place. millions of coin to landowners with taxes while the rest of the game struggles to find something to do and chops wood for hours to make coin. Let’s not forget the freebee luck super buff for pvp too.
Not really, especially since dungeons give their own special gypsum, coin bags, and named items a majority of the time. OPR boxes give maybe 1-2 good PvP items while you can get plenty from PvE.
No they focused on pve because the pve was lacking. Since this is a game constructed with PvP in mind at its core elements. PvE is an after thought. Do you know that dungeons were not even added untill the 2nd closed beta? They spent 2 months creating the first dungeons. Amrine, starstone, lazarus, genesis, depths. Yep thats right. 2 months from conception to implementation.
This is a pvp game frankensteined over to a PvX game. Dont get it twisted.
not enuf yet
