Also, for this game both are needed. If there was no PvE it would die. If there was no PvP it would die. This game isn’t built like WoW, FFXIV, SWTOR etc. where those are mostly pve but also have a lot bigger of an end game etc.
We’ll see how the raids turn out though as that will add a lot to the pve side.
Oh, I agree. I can also say I am more about the pve, but this game pvp imo is a little more than just a mini game because of wars which control the outcome of territories. If there were no wars then I would say it is 100% more of a mini game like in WoW.
PvP is the end game, that’s the elephant in the room that no one seems willing to deal with. AGS consistently fail to make even minor progress on PvP; it’s just gotten too boring to stick with.
As for PvE, the content in this game is not difficult at all… it’s not even engaging. It’s basically resource filler.
As a PvE tank I have found myself very weak PvP, and I don’t really have time or resources to have two builds yet. And it’s annoying to manually switch all the time anyways xd
So I play mainly for PvE. Should last a couple weeks hopefully.
I see a few people discussing pve/pvpers. I was taking a look at the steam achievements to get a better picture or at least an idea of what the majority of players actually achieve.
What this points to me is not a lot of players grinding out the pvp or pve achievements/activities. Only 1% of the players have 10 war wins, so if you want to say this end game is kinda crazy that you have 99% of the player-base not able to achieve this. 23.3% of players have done at least 100 pve quests. Which supports the argument that players are doing the pve regardless if they are a pvper or pver which also supports NW is a PVX game.
Steam achievements can never say anything reliable due to bots etc.
You can never say anything at all according to this achievements about amount of players prefference or how much percent of them have done something etc.
it can’t be even majority. %100 of REAL players might have 200 skinning for example but you see %20 because of bots. Noone can say that.
Do you have any other “Reliable” way of looking at what players do on a day-to-day? It’s easy to dismiss information, but the point was to prove not everyone pvps and not everyone pve’s.
Incorrect, I wanted to show many players actually get to end game. Then some end game activities such as invasions corruption breaches etc. Someone in this thread stated the only point to pve is to do wars which is the true only end game. Since they said this i wanted to point out only 1 percent of players have 10 war wins. But pick apart what you would like to pick apart. Still missing the point not everyone just pvps or just pves. Also for pvp kills im pretty sure assists count, you know how easy it is to throw a ice storm in opr and get assists?
I don’t have, and I am already saying noone can. Even AGS only “guess” from numbers. Any reliable source doesn’t exist at all. It is not dismissing an information. It isn’t even an information.
You don’t need to prove anything at all. Everyone knows that not everyone is doing pure pvp or pure pve. What’s the point you need to get ?
A game’s community can’t assign game as PvP game or PvE game. Developers can. You can’t make LoL a PvE game for example. You just can pretend it like one and play only against AI on practice mode.
NW is designed as PvX game which is like PvP oriented PvE game and also a PvE oriented PvP game. and it will be like it forever until devs change the direction and in PvX games, all kind of players can play anything at all. Pure PvE players, full PvP players which they are actually PvE players until they can afford their gear from PvE.
It is about the perspective you are looking at not about what players actually do.
He was right tho. If everyone is maxed out and everyone completes anything you can’t do anything in game than wars. He meant it. So it doesn’t important what players do actually because at the end of the day, You have to PvP for PvE and have to PvE for PvP in this game. Well, sometimes you don’t need pvp for pve but that’s not the case if you want to TRUELY complete the game.
It doesn’t mean the game is assigned for PvP. It means “hey we lack of PvE content”. So you don’t need to prove anything to anyone at all.
Therefore, it’s really easy to assume that players are doing quests while leveling, as is normal in MMOs.
There’s also no reliable path to 60 doing strictly PvP, because even PvP-oriented quests are still going to reach that questing achievement.
They’re equally wrong.
Steam achievements are also a terrible metric as they only account for a fraction of actual achievements in game. And even the in-game achievements are sorely lacking.
Where’s the achievement for completing an M10 from start to finish with a gold rank? (It would need to track boss kills of each run to avoid shard selling).
I mean,
That sounds bad until you realize only 18% of players have hit 60, so we end up with something a little closer to 5% of players who made it to 60 have won 10 wars. There’s a good chance many of those players have long-since quit though.
Don’t think so. What you can do in the game other than competing for territories if you complete everything ? OPR or 3v3 while They don’t have rank system ? or playing Economy simulations ?
Something is really missing in this game, everyone can see it. The ultimate aim is missing for me for example. So only true end game is wars which doesn’t even interest me at all. But I’m gonna play, but AGS needs to give more purpose than Wars.
Bring rankings for pvp, Bring dungeon runs for cosmetics, bring transmog system etc. There are a lot of choices there we are really lacking.
