the formula is definitely there. Super loyal/optimistic fans with a dev team that is dedicated and passionate about making new world a better game.
NW doesn’t need saving, it’s not even dying. Hardcore fans are still playing the game and with the new update it’s just gonna add more players again.
After awhile those players will leave again after they get bored. Some will come back as they always do.

I remember EQ1 back in the 640x480 days. It was my first MMO, in all honesty. It was amazing even during the timeframe where meditating slammed a spellbook up in your face so you couldn’t see anything. Just hear mobs walking around you lol.
Feels like its in a pretty great spot atm, not sure it needs saving.

PvPrs lol. they could give yall a pvp server and yall still would complain. PvErs are no better off. if one thing new world is great at its pissing on ppl and for that ill always play it. even with the good and the bad. we’re never going to be happy until the game is gone and then we’ll be backseat devs amd say “it failed cause of this” or “AGS should have did this”. Its too fun not to play when all the hate, salt and funny moments are happening.
I actually want to the immature toxic morons to bugger off again. I was enjoying OPR more before the recent great return. Case in point is OPR where it is always some random fool who is part of a 3v1 that finally kills me but is not in fact the one to kill me to teabag me. That sums up why so many people stopped playing. If you want to teabag me, then earn it.
There is a flipside to the PvX centricity of the game: The PVP gigachads who turn their noses up at running dungeons. Yeah, we get it. You have spent all your gold on a tiny sliver of the game and you are frustrated that AGS does not cater to your singular desires. Worse!! You missed the boat before the changes to perks on armor and getting a decent set of warded armor for each dungeon/enemy so now no one wants to play with you. You are super frustrated that PVE and PVX players see people’s warded gear as signifying whether they are serious players or not and do not want to run M10s with you (but can’t they see? That you have BIS BIS BIS armor??).
As a filler it will probably bring a few back, other options are still a ways off
I suspect a few are perhaps playing classic wotlk or retail itself before its expansion
Myself, beta access to Pantheon and Ashes will probably replace this very unregretfully.
Every MMO pulls back players when new content drops.
And then another MMO pulls players away when it drops new content.
It’s a see-saw, back and forth. Chasing the new content drops.
Everyone will run back to WoW in November when Dragonflight comes out. And then next year, new content will drop for some other game and people will bail out and go play that new content.
Its the new MMO cycle.
Very few people commit to a single online game anymore. They are mostly floaters.
You “do” realize that Ashes is basically Vaporware right now right? 
No idea what Pantheon is so I can’t speak to that. I did a Google search on Pantheon and got the “Wouldn’t you rather be playing New World” error corrector message.
Just wait until the “Zork: Frobozz Lives!” MMO drops

A lot of us will never go back to WoW … heh …
The only one that looks like it has potential to me, coming out any time soon, is Throne and Liberty … and who knows how soon that will even be …
Forced PVP during night time confirmed ! There is no room for PVE only people there, or they gonna stay in cities and camps during night !
