The only time I walk in this game is to loot chests, everything else is just fast travelling so I’m not even sure we need them.
True, walking for hours was annoying while leveling but once you hit 60 that’s pretty much over. Maybe we’ll need them if they ever expand map and remove some of shrines, house backing etc.
Yes. Mounts will be a thing someday, but it is not this day.

Yeah they implied they will, and probably several months from now. There’s even items in the database that indicates that.

If their stance hasn’t changed then why would they say anything beyond what they already have?
I was thinking more along the lines of an updated statement on this to address the multitude of players who have also raised concerns about the amount of walking involved in this game. Surely, they may not deem the world large enough for mounts, but if the world is large enough to have fast-traveling be a thing - why not just introduce mounts? I’m not an incredibly experienced MMO player, so maybe there’s something to that equation I still don’t get, but this is my train of thought at least.
The world has been shrunk significantly by the ease of fast travel, mounts would serve to shrink it further. Additionally, there’s more to it like how they decide to handle flagged players and mounts for example.
I don’t think the people complaining about walking are a good enough justification for making the map even smaller. My opinion, of course, and others disagree.
Mounts are WAY down the list of things I think they need to prioritize.
I do not know why you think mounts will never be a thing. Info about mounts was found in a new-ish datamine.

I would like to have mounts but this team is no where near where they would be to implement then in a seemless fashion

Scott Lane was smart enough to know that his dev team was nowhere near ready to implement donkeys let alone mounts the too small comment is rhetoric and malarkey all you gotta do is run around the world to see that.
