Hey players, curious if were going to be dealing with name issues on the FSS since names are shared across servers. Will these servers have all the names open to be taken since they’re not linked or will we be playing “Try ever possible combination of a name to find one not taken”

Most likely if the name is taken, you will not be able to use it. These servers will eventually be open for transfers once the dust settles.
Naming in new world is one of the most liberal of any MMORPG I have played. Naming a character should not be difficult for anyone, unless they all expect to be “Reaper”, “Artemis” or some other cliche name that everyone chooses thinking they will be unique and cool like all the other people who think they are unique and cool for choosing these names.
The best names I have seen in game are actually legit old school sounding names from the period. And if one chooses to name their character like this, then the amount of available names grows by exponential magnitudes.
Don’t be cliche, make a cool lore fitting name.
