The Angry Earth have devised a magical weapon to drive humans mad and make them attack each other. They unleash it when they have sufficient resources to do so.
At random times, in random, high-ish level zones or large parts of them, everyone who is present at the time becomes flagged for PvP, without regard to level or faction. The Angry Earth’s weapon arrives in the form of a celestial event on parr with the meteors from the 2021 Christmas event. Spirit shrines are disabled. The only way in or out of the area is by foot. If you enter the area you become instantly flagged. You become unflagged 30 seconds after you leave it. If you die you can only res within the PvP area because the Angry Earth have trapped your soul within it. If you kill somebody, or help to kill somebody, near your own level, you earn gypsum. After some period of time, the effect wears off and everything returns to normal.
This is a cool idea but i feel it would just make what ever zone it is in into what gc is right now. The faction with the most people stomps the area and others pve eventually leading into toxic shit show becuase the people losing cant fight back due to lack of numbers.
It would also be a way to kill bots but this wouldn’t do anything if nobody fallows them for the entier time killing them(im sure someone would do this) or they on the winning faction and dont die. Also since they dont drop mats it really won’t have that big of an effect except alow them down.
I like it, but at this point I would like any sort of dynamic open world events since they are so few and far between.
The few weeks we had Turkulon running around were actually really fun, and it looks like they might have taken that into account finally.
More stuff going on helps the world feel more alive and incentivizes people leaving town and doing things in the world and interacting with it, which right now with super low azoth costs, is pretty much limited to gathering.
