Worried about devs understanding of weapon meta and how they nerf weapons

This is based on the current weapon buffs/nerfs on the test server.

Just to get it out of the way, yes I am a FS/IG user, that does not mean I cant have an objectivly view on things.

So as we all can see on the test server, magic weapons in general are taking a huge hit in terms of viability in New World if these changes go through. I am really worried as every war, OPR and PVE instance will now contain of Hammer/GA/Hatchet wich is by far the best weapons in the game and left untouched by the nerfs (they are even buffing hammer…)

The issue with nerfing the mage weapons is that its impacting so many areas of the game, and I cant see how they have reached the conclution to do this nerf.

  1. How in the world are mages gonna do PVE content now? The thing with mages was that they were DPS and in that regard are dependant on having some sort of tank with them. With the nerfs (that are insanely harsh) the dmg potential is destroyed. Why would I not go GA/Hammer now?
  2. Mages are just a small group in every war/OPR with the high tier companies. Why? Because they fill a niche, wich with the proposed nerfs is not necesarry anymore. I am so afraid its just going to be melee dps and healers now (even healers recieved big nerfs, so maybe its only gonna be melee fights).
  3. It seems like the developers want us to play in a specific way, and thats the GA way. How are not the most broken weapon tweaked at all??

Next is the way they nerf/buff weapons. I hate this kind of approach, why not try small buffs/nerfs to start with? You are litterally destroying a playstyle in the game right now.

I know people will say “but mages get top dps in wars”. Yes that happens, the reason is the AOE abilities wich in the end have no meaningfull impact at all. Ice storm/Meteor shower a point and you will win the dps category. Are you killing anyone or deal meainingfull dmg? no. GA/Hammers in healing spots on point doesnt even notice your 200dmg ticks.

The nerfs/buffs must have some kind of numbers the devs look at to make those changes, so I think we need to see them. Because from my perspective it looks completly out of order what weapons are being buffed and nerfd (Hammer buff?? Bow nerf?? Int weapons huge nerf??).

Could we maybe see the statistics that make the devs do these changes? For me it looks completly random. (And that is proven with no GA nerf)

Ridiculous how they nerfed Healing Staff because a bunch of kids cried about it, meanwhile meta builds GA/WH are buffed…
I want to see how Healers will do now in PVE either not healing at all or using light and getting one shot because the ago system of this game is trash.

Now Healers have no dmg, no cc’s, no heals etc
Like a lot of people said already, they want meta lets give them meta GA/WH we go…

Who needs healing anyway? I seen a video of musket hit 6000 on a player yesterday, and most endgame elites can do 4000 odd damage.

Basically dead before you blink and get a healing spell down :man_shrugging:

Let’s not forget you can pretty much spam potions, double stack 1% healing tick buffs many times and use regen potions…

GA/WM are walking talking DPS chemists.

I agree that Heavy armor healing needed a little bit of nerf at some extent, but anything like this, i Spam OR everyime and if 2 guys with good stun lock come for me im dead.
Now with this changes, Healing is dead, we already struggle in finding healers for PVE now lets see the Great Axe/ Hammer users heal themselved :slight_smile:
