Yeah, the amount of effort they put into making things that don’t progress vertically is insane. If I was in charge I would have created more vertical progression with the updates. This means you need less new content to keep people happy.
I also would have spent just as much time in PVP as I did on PVE.
You know how many times I have played BnB and Ennead? Once each. I don’t need anything from there. All I needed was my heart gem so I got it and never ran it again. I already have BIS gear.
So basically months of development time they spent did not benefit me at all and gave me zero new gameplay loops.
Meanwhile I am in my 2000th game of OPR. They can’t even seem to dedicate enough time to make a new map for this mode. Hell, I would be happy if they just used existing places on the current world map. It would be fun to have OPR battles in the middle of famous towns.
When they dedicate time to new dungeons or PVE content they need to make sure there is a reason players will want to play that content. There needs to be some sort of vertical progression in the new content where I am motivated to actually play it.
This type of content isn’t hard to make, it just takes a bit or planning. For example ennead could drop some sort of new material which you have to harvest enough or to create an untradable never ending potion. Something to hook players in.
100%. With the amount of almost synchronized posts saying the same thing they really need to drop what they’re doing and get on this. I think they’re underestimating how important it is.
A map inside Everfall would be extremely fun. This variance would also help with the musket and bow problem, as a more urban setting would favor melee and tanks.
I think they should just make something that picks a random spot on the world map and the game starts. Would make it extremely fun and interesting. Every game would be a bit different.
Urban warfare would be pretty sick. I think a snow level is needed though, just for video game tradition lol. But also how cool would an urban setting be when daggers are released. Moonlit streets with fog and assassins running around
facts imagine instead of revamping the early zones(ill let monarchs slide, it cool) they revamped every level 60 zone off the rip reekwater, ebonscale, sm, make edengrove lvl60
At this point I wouldnt even mind if the whole map layout remained the same with landscape intact but at the very least they could add new “theme”. Like Brightwood and Brimstone themed OPR for instance, a speck of variety.
New skin basically, looking at the same landscape with the same trees, same everything yikes. Shouldn’t be too hard to implement
Oh my gosh this would be so fun, I just imagined a PVP match in First Light. It could be CTF style from the ship/travel shrine over to the storage/crafting stations on the other side of the city. There are so many nooks and crannies to hide in, you can get up on the roofs if you want (keeps muskets happy), and the center (near the trading post) could be the grand stage for bruiser battles. So many towns would actually make really fun PVP game modes.
This seens an easy to do idea that never crossed my mind. Add some pvp modes on the less visited zones on the map. Doesnt affect pvers, adds content to pvprs and last and not less important It does not requires to hard fight against the spagetis code they have as graphical motor. Triple win
Nobody cares about another map. Its just not a priority. They have more things to fix, like the spawn kill/camping and performance based rewards for top 5 other than just your name shown on the end of OPR
U know only small team is working on New World? And post launch the team gets smaller every year. Thats how it goed with companies that need to achieve profit goals
This is your daily reminder that they reworked myrk and the other SM elite zones asap just to kill solo looting. It was also the first large patch before even fixing 95+% of bugs. They can make a new opr map in a month easy, but they don’t want to spend the resources.
