Would Love to Join Multiple Companies

While I’m hoping we’ll see more features added to companies, the more I play the game, the more I wish I was able to be a part of more than one company. As a leader of a small company used for chatting, and helping players out, sometimes it would also be nice to be a part of the more competitive scene for wars and invasions.

I think if this was added, company sizes would need to be much larger to accommodate this style of play, but this is just something I’ve been thinking on, and figured I’d share.

This system has never worked for any game. It always leads to the destruction of company/guild identity and contributes heavily to social erosion, which is responsible for the downfall of the game as we know it and many others.

Anything that invalidates companies in this game, in me you will find a strong, relentless enemy.
The game does not need more companies to join, and it does not need larger companies. In fact, the way it works now is probably whats keeping the game alive.

You don’t need companies for this. Use faction chat. Also, if you want to war, get off your bank guild and join a war guild.

Your use of the terms always and never I find amusing namely because all then is required is to present one example of that not being the case to disprove your statement.

So, being that it wouldn’t be required to join more than one, and just give players (heck even companies the power to choose so), I’d counter with Guild Wars 2 as an example where the game allows for multiple factions, again as an option.

You’re more than welcome to disagree, and perhaps overall you might be correct in this assortment on a human physiological level, but I got a lot of enjoyment out of your reply due to its ABOSLUTE nature and phrasing.

Exactly, what is the quality of guilds in gw2? Is it a shining example of how guilds should be? Or how about eso? or in retail wow?

In what successful mmo (since they are the best example) or unsuccessful one. Exactly when has this system benefited the game at all, other then just applying multiple tags and people using guilds as feature, as opposed to a social platform.

if you cant understand those questions, its probably best to end the discussion there

I hated this in GW2 and ESO. Guilds end up feeling meaningless in those games to me. Besides, you don’t have to be in the same company to be able to fight wars or invasions together. Hell, you don’t even have to be in the same faction.

Horse crap, Guild wars 2 has used this very system since it’s LAUNCH and has NOT killed anything. You can have up to 5 guilds in that game at any given moment.

Exactly what benefit did it bring to the game?

Yeah, you already can for Wars. This should not be allowed.

Since youre to damn lazy to play the game for yourself im gonna stand by what i said, and you can go ahead and play it, until max level, and then you can argue this point with me. It is not my fucking job to educate children, nor will i try. This game needs multiple companies so that if my main company is doing some pve junk i want no part of but my second company is playing opr i can swap flags rq and go pvp. One other benefit it gave was companies once max level got a perk that reduced teleport costs by a sizeable chunk.

Like I said, my example just was to take down your absolute statements with one example. But what it brought in player choice and allowed for guilds not to be so rigid. If you wanted to have a company that was only made of company members, then you could do that, and someone else wanted another choice then they would have that option too.
I respect your opinion, and maybe a better solution would be to create our own chat channels as a way to be notified when players sign in, chat as a group, etc…
I’m game for whatever works best for the majority of players.

So your argument is that, because i do not support it as a designer i have never played it? Great logic there. A few thousands of hours in gw2.

No, It does not need multiple companies. You have faction options to join a war group.

Allowing multiple guilds does not prevent single guilds from not having a single focus. Multiguild features do not work well. They have never in any mmo brought value to the game. Hardstop.
If you want a guild that does more things, join one that has a wider focus.

I respect your position also. Please understand that In all the game changes that can be made, i am strongest against the concept of anything that invalidates guilds, or their identities. They make up the families of the cities of the states of a nation. Invalidating them destroys the entire fabric of the social structure of a game, which contributes to its decline.

I am willing to talk about other options, like wow’s communities b ut it needs discussion anda lot of it.

What would you like to see added to guilds? Genuinely curious to see if we have any common ideas
