that definitely exists in NW but there are still “real” PvPers. I know tons of PvPers who dont do PvE even If it does award you with a good income to buy good gear, because the want to do PvP and they do it with decent purple gear. You definitely can beat the BiS RMTers and I wouldnt blame the game design for it but the ingame moderation, If those players arent being taken care of. That being said RMT exists in every MMO and you will never get rid of it.
PvPers like scoreboards. You have a daily, weekly, monthly etc scoreboard for open world PvP and dedicated rewards you would have your open world PvP.
Make sure there are territorial, global and fort capturing scores.
Show who has been capturing forts for your faction - only visible by factions. Would create some incentive.
Having smaller forts, watchtowers and camps placed around each territory that need to be destroyed would give something for PvPers to do in the open world. Attacking factions can destroy points of interest and then use resources to build up the structures in their factions style and the occupying faction needs to defend/repair structures before they lose them otherwise they lose territorial benefits.
Many people repeated over and over those ‘returning players’ will never stay long term. No offense intended, but a big majority of them are just games jumpers. Regardless what changes will be in New World they will find 1-10 reasons to quit and dramatize about it.
Market has no issue so far.
As improvement I think Trades should be taxed aswell. Why? Because when we sell something through trade post we pay taxes, whoever buy pays taxes too. But players who trade for 500k+ get ZERO TAXES?!
Looks like real life, poors and medium class gets taxed and rich ones zero taxes.
Open-World PvP: there were fights at beginning for forts Monarch, Cutlass, First Light when teleports were 400+ if dont had those forts.
Guess what … they asked to be nerfed.
Azoth got nerfed and forts buffs got changed too. Until recently we were fighting for holding specific fort(s) BEFORE locking.
Guess what … they asked forts to be permanently opened. So these 2 changes just completely killed all type of battles for Forts.
If u want PvP u have 3 options:
-Record urself all day and hope to join a big company and be competitive enough to make it into top 50 for war roster.
-Do Arena.
-Do OPR. Where with risks of being flamed, but nowadays game is filled up with aim-hacks (range players) and lock-target-hacks (melee players).
those are your reasons
dont push your problems to other ppl
and we knew those returning players will leave again
the moment they find something isnt to their liking
and we dont care they can go play other games…
This is the biggest truth.
This is an MMORPG, not a Rust-like game. Get used to it.
Couldnt care less like the other 95% of the playerbase.
I dont see any issue with your claims. (But there are certainly other issues, like no meaningful progressionsystem)
One thing of this game i would never understand, is the Bind on Equip mode.
I mean i would understand the Bind on PIckup for some Legenderay Item hard to get, maybe 5% of the whole item existing, but using an item, making its value equal to 0, has no sens to me.
I don’t think people are quiting because items don’t break irreplaceably.
Repair kits are a thing in this game… I make them and sell them…
Why would people buy repair kits? Am I missing something, so far I have been able to repair my own gear with just a little gold and my ever-full repair parts that I get from from dismantling gear.
I stopped playing about 2 weeks ago because i’m waiting for fresh start servers. Since i’m a returning player, i don’t feel like investing any more time into the game right now.
This game is not a subscription based game and therefore it is normal for players to come and go when they please. They don’t feel the need to login and play like with a sub game.
Also, there are multiple other games people play and that’s OK.
That’s a solid reason. I hope you enjoy your break and we look forward to seeing you return. Hope that you’re enjoying some other game as a gap filler or are you going cold turkey for a few weeks? ![]()
I’ve recently returned in midst of checking out the brimstone sands zone. Which might i add has been a blast coming back. my gearscore was not the best when returning but the amount of Gypsum Orbs plus the nice 610 Legendary Weapons from the questlines really helped. After a couple days of playing and running some dungeons a good majority of my slots are finally nearing that 600 mark.
I am not leaving due to the market being flooded with items. I understand that the items do break, but if they break and are lost and re purchased i for see the market becoming even more saturated with gear. A vast majority of the stuff on the Trading post is just meh and not worth purchasing.
I agree there needs to be Open World PVP objectives constantly. Why can’t we just engage and dismantle the forts and then go take over the settlement instead of waging a war. They aren’t there to defend then thats on them. Sure people would do middle of the late night / early morning to take over areas but i would see it shifting alot more than it does now.
Tbh it’s tough. I started playing New World in the beginning of september and got so hooked on it. Since they anounced fresh start servers i can’t think of anything else and the wait seems endless. I tried to fill the void with games like overwatch, csgo, mw2 and of course sitting on the forum and watching nw content creators. It also doesn’t help that i’m currently off work and have alot of free time
Thank god it’s only 2 more days.
I hear you! ![]()
I’ve only been back 3 weeks or so and I’m just testing out different weapons so I have a better understanding of what I want to do when I get to roll on a FSS. I’ve rolled an Ironman Mode character where I have to be 100% self sufficient, ie no trade post. I have to craft or farm the items I use and I’d highly recommend it as a slow paced enjoyable experience. It was slightly ruined by the bonus exp event and less experience due to new levelling though, as you miss out whole zones as a result. ![]()
That sounds like and interesting way to play the game. I also like to gather most of the stuff by myself except maybe water
Are there any other rules/limitations you have set for yourself?
the issue is people don’t want to spend 1 mill on a full set of gear so they leave because you on sits on pricing BIS for 200k so it not worth their time to keep playing because only territory owners can afford it pain and simple someone with epic armor can’t kill someone with bis armor unless you are grouped which is not satisfying at all and boring for most people and also meta changes too much so than again they have to get different gear do it all over again when they might have just almost gotten some BIS for their set that now is crap and nurfed to death this make thing feel un rewarding and pointless to continue they need to lock attribute point too 300 max in pvp only way to truly balance this game
When you max out repair parts, you craft repair kits to stop wasting excess.
