Fire staff machine gun exploiter in OPR on 11/14/2021 after they claimed it was fixed (AnhrealQT). Watch the wall of the CP.
Botters south of Windsward and West of Everfall:
Exploiters are getting less and less with actual bans happening, but these bots get to these spots at level one and you can see their levels. The wood cutting bots are already in the 40s as of this post. I’ve had dozens of people claim they reported them with no action from AGS. Even made the HOT section of Reddit with the woodcutter video.
EDIT: Videos are processing on Youtube. Taking their sweet time. Give them a moment. Thank you.
EDIT2: Ignore my crappy gameplay in OPR. I still can’t aim for crap with my staves.
Nice, a lot of 24h bans in here.
If AGS bans them, they can get some rest and do everything again.
Super worth.
…
You know who is wrong? People that are not abusing, because 24 h bans… is like saying “you can do it… but this is ugly don’t do that too much or people will find out and complain, ok?”
One thing that they could have done right… One thing, no design, no code… nothing. Just pure “follow the rules or I don´t want you here”. But they didn’t do, the future will be amazing =)
I’m not encouraging it, in fact I hate it, and think it’s totally toxic to any multiplayer game - but, that being said …
The exploits are still everywhere; however, the lesson was learned - per other MMO’s, “dupe early, dupe often”; once the cat is out of the bag w/ regards to a specific exploit, it gets shut down like happened last week.
I agree. They need to perma ban exploits hacks and dupers… They will destroy the game, and they only didn’t destroyed yet, because the game has a lot of more problem to solve. But once fixed… all the fun will go because of this kind of people… They need to go and they need to go now! Before is too late.
If you have to work your whole life to make enough money to retire, and someone else can do it via life hacks, that’s a serious problem.
Obviously, the literal equivalent is not the same, but the underlying principle is the same - the time / value proposition is not comparable between the two.
New World has a real problem with this - even if the most well-known exploits were fixed, the damage will have very long-lasting effects.
Botting:
I feel the solution is rather simple for a company with the money of Amazon. A few GMs per region who spend their 8 hour shift cycling through the servers, 30 min per server or so, hit up the highest areas with Bot reports, and ban the obvious ones while flagging the possible ones for further review.
I do admit that this requires the staff GMs to have at least some knowledge as a gamer and being able to spot the signs, but in all honesty that shouldn’t be that hard. I GMed in Everquest during the golden days of Sony and actually enjoyed my job until they sold it out to Daybreak and DBG got rid of most of us. If AGS paid me what I make now as a Truck Driver I’d switch in a heartbeat and happily spend my work days clearing the servers and writing up reports on em.
Don’t tell me. I still see the same 2 guys running a macro for 8h a day in their thicc voidbents(just like their whole guild) every single day. I’m not reporting them since we reported as a guild already like 8 people consistently who were abusing the shit out of every exploit there was. Noone got banned, maybe for the 24h but they are all happily logging in daily. I basically just log in to see if they still run macro, then logout. I just wanna see for how many months they’re able to do it.
I stopped playing, I regret not abusing the duping or using macros. I’m not that type of player, and I wanted this game to succeed. Now tho it feels like every hour I put into getting something ingame is meaningless. Feels like I’m just f*in myself over. I dislike the motion that ppl get stuff for free when I’d have to spend 100hours for the same thing in a freaking online game.
