You guys are ridiculous!

Maybe theses servers are the old ones they had when they first launched this game hence why fast to release them again

I mean WoW has been around for 20 years and has queues for their servers whenever an expansion rolls around still. NW’s servers deal with that but on a smaller scale. It is what it is.

Imo I think the devs did a really good job with this launch. I was fully expecting unplayable lag and rubberbanding on patch day and barely got any of it. They also increased sever cap as well before it.

People can be upset but the truth is that the devs care and are truly improving stuff

It doesn’t.
If you cared about it, even before the problem happened you had already solved it, because by publishing the document of possible queues you knew that the servers could not hold that many players, so in the previous months you could already act.

4k on a server? Are you hearing what you say? The fight for resources will be massive. Prices will be 10x higher since everyone will want the X resource. + the lagg.

4k will be ok when the map will be at least double the size.

Edit: not even minding the territory system where the territories are limited. 50 players for invasion. 100 for war. Only a few companies can have the territories.

What about the other 3500 players on server that will probably never get into a invasion or a war?

WoW server capacity is far, far greater than this game. Even at launch, WoW could hold 4k players. They hold double that now. If NW servers held 8k players, we wouldn’t have queues. You would think Amazon could do at least as good as games from over a decade ago.

The engines are completely different. You’re comparing apples to oranges. We all know how new world is with lag. I love this game but they struggled with performance issues for a while. But right now they’re working on slowly increasing the capacity but it’s not as easy as just tripling it with a flick of a switch.

Just like WoW, their servers can handle what they can handle for now

the way they do their servers is the equivalent to an indie game, they need to get with modern times and Do a shard system, or stacking servers, where its like channels that you can switch between, having set servers with a set caps does literally nothing to fix the queue issues the game has had since launch.

Apples and oranges are both fruit, and NW and WoW are both MMO’s. We can compare them. One game was able to support far, far more players a decade ago than the newest, most state of the art MMO that has the backing of Amazon Web Services. Yeah, they can’t support their player base right now, we know, that’s the problem. While they can’t flick a switch, they better do something, because this is unsustainable.

To start with, all characters that had not been logged into for over 200 days should have been moved to low-pop servers. They wouldn’t have even known the difference when they came back to try out the game again. But now, they are back and keeping the dedicated player base from enjoying the game. This is bad planning and implementation all around.

Nahh now seriously… I don’t care about delays in a patch… That’s pretty normal in an mmo.
As the experienced mmo player I’m I endured many many patches and delays… I know how to deal with it. I’m not frustrated at all.

What frustrates me is that combat controls are in an awful state and the game is very unpleasant to play…

100% agree with you. They dont give a single F about this problem. 4 servers combined= 8000 people sitting in queue waiting to play the game after a hard working day. And thats why the player base is gonna drop to 25k again in one month from this patch. This New World game is like a human being, pretty from the outside with Brimstone update but ugly in the inside with a LOT of problems. you really need to be in love with this game to play it and tolerate all the bullshit developers are giving us

it’s easy to say “just increase the cap to 4000 people” and not to think of consequeces of what will happen in-game

How can you compare NW and WoW? Have you ever seen them? One is 2d and bland, the other is one of the best-looking games I’ve played recently. Also, look at the post above, the server architecture is completely different.

They were…

You talking about the image they put in a post a week before the update? And now mentioning a brand new server that just launched the same day as Brimestone? You that thickheaded that you think it will stay relevant permanently? :person_facepalming:t2:

OP, at least you have option to play. I came back after not playing since January. My character was transfered to server, but that server is locked currently and I cant go there - where my siblings play.
So yeah, I am in limbo right now, cant play at all and wont join some random server (not sure, if thats even posible, since I have that character there, just not bound to world)

Wow. You can read people’s minds.

New World has more in common with WoW than a Toyota has in common with a Tesla, but low and behold, car reviewers still compare them. It would be rather ignorant to say they can’t be compared because they are different “architectures” {I don’t think you actually know what that means, WoW and NW use the same server architecture, perhaps you mean something else).

Stop making excuses for them. These are still MMOs and MMOs can be be compared. Beta WoW, which was almost 20 years ago, was able to carry twice the amount of players per server as NW can now. WoW was state of the art back then, with MUCH worse processing power, and MUCH lower internet speeds than Amazon Web Services has today, with a MUCH smaller budget, yet did better than AGS can do today and does FOUR TIMES BETTER today! If WoW could only carry 2k players per server back then, it would have failed miserably as AGS seems destined to do once again. It doesn’t matter to anyone that the “architecture is different”, all that matters is NW has a pathetically small amount of players per server, period, and that limitation is ruining the game. They had better find a way, any way, to raise the player cap, or history will repeat and the population will plummet soon again. We both like this game, so we need to keep pressing the urgency of this issue. No modern MMO can survive with such a pathetically low concurrent user count. Having servers at all is an antiquated approach.

We know this, the problem is they waited too long to do that. We had been telling them to do this for weeks, but they waited until the last minute. People were already logging in days before the patch in anticipation of the new content. By then it was too late. Seems to be a recurring theme with AGS.
