You guys need to lower durability on repaired items till they break

Rofl. Thinking playing FF14 or GW2 are insults.
What, do you not feel like a badass enough in them, so clearly no one cool plays them because only your opinion matters with your head that far up your ass?

Import some common sense. You need it.

I tried them both but they aren’t mmos, ff14 is an experience similar to reading a book and gw2 but with team deathmatch elements.

If you don’t rely on others, it’s not an mmo and half of NW is already turning out to be a dissapointment but if its going to be half needed to satifisfy the people who are after an experience alone so be it but if it gets any worse it can go in the pile with the rest of the trash r/mmorpg suggests all of the time, everyday and i’ll go back to being a competitive player on a game worth my time like Tekken and hopefully ashes who’s leader was an Archeage competitor.

They’re MMOs. They’re just MMOs YOU don’t like.
Thankfully, your opinion is not some global standard the rest of the world has to abide by. Heaven forbid an MMO have story, I guess.

Yeah, it’s needed in this type of game - sadly it’s a old school MMO mechanic and these days everyone wants everything handed to them.

Ok i’m fine with that, if pvp is 100% of the time on with full loot, then we rename it from New World to Old World.

Nostalgia is only nice being nostalgia. Old games mechanics were a thing in early 2000s but it wouldn’t work in modern world, we don’t have the amount of time to spend playing games anymore (not even kids).

I am absolutely in favor of this idea. I hope it gets implemented. As much as I would hate to see my vorpal sick nasty musket go. I understand everything you are saying. I’m not even a crafter but its obvious how good this change would be for that crowd. It links the crafters with the PvPers/adventurer’s in a awesome interesting way. Allowing connection between players which lets be honest is really lacking in new world. I’d love to have my personal crafter hit me up when he gets some juicy rolls. But I dont need that because I get one good roll one time and GG.

I would also not even mind some loot drop in PvP Whether it was items or resources. I prefer items. It adds much risk/reward for PvP. You lose your fat vorpal + musket? Sucks to suck. Maybe dont bring it to the fight next time or hit up johnny see if he can craft you a new one.

Someone just 2 shot you with his legendary axe? Get the boys together and go kill his ass and claim it for yourself.

I’d love to see PvP servers where everybody is always flagged. I play on a medium pop server and ive been flagged since i was 10. I can count on my fingers and toes how many fights I have gotten in. Im lvl 31 now. Did pvp quests for most of those level praying i would find some action. Just happen to pick one of the lower pop servers i guess. I know the high pop servers have big zerg issues too.

To everyone whos going to be rude to me and has been rude to the OP, hey man we all want the best for the game chill out. Go run around in your unflagged PvE same quests over and over again paradise. If yall were as hostile in game as on the forum i’d have a lot more fun and im already having a good time.

I just don’t like them your correct, not like I don’t have 30 years of game experience and since i waa 15 played every decent mmo there is to play, ā€œits just not my thingā€.

You are very stubborn, competitevly so, why are you so passionate about spats like this but have a lesser attitude for experiences that take up more of your time? I guess I just lack the common sense right?

That is also not fun for the majority of people.

You say this like your 30 years of experiences means your opinions are sacred.

Guess what? I also have over 30 years of experience playing games, and I say FF14 and GW2 are MMOs, so… :man_shrugging:

I’m passionate about calling out people with fat egos acting like their opinion is somehow golden law because of {insert whatever bullshit gatekeeping they invent here}

Early Alpha builds had this as a feature. Your gear would actually break if it completely lost durability. Wasn’t repairable at that point. Having spent many resets in the game, I do believe something of that system needs to be brought back.

ā€œGatekeepingā€

Resorting to words to simplify complex topics, Twitter spam friendly for sure but its more than that, none of your paragraphs show compromise and you’re a complete hypocrite for calling my opinion sacred?

I didn’t say that Gw2 and ff14 were bad games btw, I said they lack the multiplayer aspect, strongly. Anyway, goodbye, it wasn’t an interesting discussion, as I expected.

Imagine playing mmos for 25 years. Which doesn’t really amount to anything (Irl and in game), just because some people have literally no life does not mean others don’t (most do).
But yeah most if not all mmos have ā€˜bis’ gear that drops (best stats for your build) which can be hard to obtain. Having them break and having to farm them constantly is a horrible idea. Let’s just grind to grind again and again and again?" No thanks. Repairing is enough until it’s replaceable.

5 or so to replace. What fricken world are you living in. Im having a hard enough time finding gear with stats and perks that I use. Gfy

Who hurt the OP for them to make such a miserable suggestion?

I would say make stuff repaired by repairparts and gold lose their durability.
If they are repaired with Repairkits they do not lose durability.
If they are repaired with a master repair kit, the durability goes back to max.

Would make more demand for those repair kits (even the smaller ones) and crafters would actually start to craft them.

Something similar had conan exciles and I must say that was a good compromis. There you could repair all broken gear on the workstation with regular mats if you could make them by yourself. If you were not able to craft them (like legendary items or stuff you did not have a recipe for) you had to use a legendary repair kit to repair them. Also Repairing was only possible for legendary gear if it was not fully broken, so you needed to pay attention to the durability during fights. If you did not pay attention your legendary weapon broke and you were not able to repair it anymore.
Something similar would probably make sence for NW too.

Ahh and maybe do not make repairs cost gold. The mats/parts is enough I would say.

EDIT: Sorry, I want to post on the thread, not responding you!

Sorry but this is a very bad idea, we are not in an hardcore game.

I just came from an mmo (full pvp, full inventory loot) where it was implemented and it was a nightmare.

People were grinding, farming like hell to achieve to get stuff to just loose them in few pvp battle.
In the end open pvp was less and less present because people were not happy to loose their stuff. ā€œYou have a chance to die? nope nope sorry mateā€

Noone will do open pvp anymore or questing with flag open. It will not, only people with dedicated go-to-trash stuff will go in pvp.

To me this is always a suggestion coming from people who have invested their life into crafting and feel very sad that they cannot monetize their waste of time on it (take no offense in that I do crafting too but I know the end of the road).

Honestly, the issue here is, as the server are limited in size, and if people tend to stay, as no reroll is allowed, most of crafting stuff will not be needed anymore …

Still: potion, food, stone buff etc.

Having to repair stuff with gold is enough, even not damaging the stuff when killed by a player is nice. Everyone will do pvp in the end if the gold is the only issue.

Huhu!

How ya doing at 60 my dear carebears?

Bored yet?

Asking for moar content?

No clue about why are you bored?

Raging in forums vs developers for creating a boring game while you ask for BORING mechanics?

Or do you my dear haters already leave the game because you are just MMO-jumping casuals that plagued every themepark the last 10 years??

If they do anythign like this, they need to make these weapons far more durable from the get go. I can get my weapon to near broken from ~ 1-2 hours of fighting, and some weapons lose durability every time you switch weapons. Some items also need to have much higher durability than others, or you kind of kill the want to grind dungeon gear for it to become useless after a week or so of getting the item. If it were easier to get resources to open dungeons to keep running them for the chance to get that item you need, sure, but I’m not going to spend days of mindless grinding for keys to get into a dungeon for a small % chance to get the item I need so I can use it again for ~ a week before having to do the cycle again.
