You guys need to lower durability on repaired items till they break

Sounds good to me, in a week a crafter and a gatherer will PLAY the game for you in exchange of your money OR you will have to actually play and move your ass to replace it.

I dont care if its a month, it just needs to be done.

Pops, you need to learn that kids these days don’t want shit like that. It’s coming back around though; you’re starting to see perma-death options in a lot of newer AAA titles that are getting traction.

Point is, can you imagine the griping you’d see on these forums?? Look at what we get already! People are complaining about taxes, gold and Azoth availability…there’d be a never ending line of complaints about how the weapon they farmed for 20 hours to get is now broken!!111

I could get behind it though. It would definitely keep things interesting and make players think twice before using it to kill wolves or gank a noob.

This comment basically said there is no reason to ever run a dungeon, lol.

You have to find middle ground here.

Are you still babbling for a garbage mechanic maybe 15 players want?
The idea sucks & 99% of the player base would hate it. Get over it.

As a tank My shit is broken All the time and I rarely die I can pump several hundred gold out a night into repairs depending on what im doing. Spending hours farming for specific drops and gearing for items I want just to trade off for wearing disposable garbage I knew would eventually get destroyed would not be how I would want to play the game.

Sorry, it takes to long to get a god roll weapon to have it simply break after a few uses. This would kill what little open world PVP there is since 10% XP isn’t worth all the damage that you would do to your gear with every death.

What has changed from 20 years ago?? The world has only got more convenient + there is less going out due to prices so I’m very boggled by this reply.

Unless ofc it is referring to people who are glued to their phones with apps like tic toc and twitter and people so bored that they feel they need to invest in all the indie games steam releases.

Yes…let’s stop thinking about any ideas and just add a battle royale mode in NW.

Oh and make the game 95% dialogue and cut scenes so instead of playing I can instead read or watch asmongold ā€œplayā€ it.

I’d so rather they did the WoW model, I can play an expansion for a month or something and leave, what bliss…

So sick of the cost to repair gear and the durability of items in inventory breaking even when never equipping it.
The cost to repair is way more than the boards can offer up if you do each mission on the board you will need to repair gear most likely.

I think every player would be happy if they kept it the same and changed the Items in inventory being broken on Death. I’ve never played a game that has done that and it consumes an insane amount of Gold and repair Parts.

big yikes, no thanks

I don’t disagree with this, I feel like people fail to realize that if you don’t make durability changes with a soon to be average server population of 1200 players most weapons and armor won’t get sold the auction house.

I feel like the people for this idea fail to realize literally every other MMO without breakable items & have economies that work fine.

No.

Weapon and armors will legit almost never be bought, that’s a huge flaw in the economy.

If you make a starmetal great axe and you die it loses 5-10 durability, the way you can repair durability should be another starmetal great axe that has a similar GS

The problem is actually that the crafting systems and economic systems were designed assuming that all equipment would break and not last forever.

This creates a problem because it has caused the end game to be hopelessly stagnant by design.

Here is what they should do:

Really? Can you provide proof the weapons were supposed to permanently break?

UO inspired many games, the item destruction mechanic did not live on because it was not a system people are interested in.

marketeers in this game are already super rich. Item destruction is not needed, and would not work here.

If you do, people will just not play, if you think having to remake expensive gear is going to keep lvl60’s engaged then I’m not sure what you’ve learnt in these 25 years. I mean even the costs of keeping them repaired is plain stupid.

Losing items works very well in games with standardized equipment like eve online and runescape where every items doesn’t have random modifiers. losing an item that you have a 1 in a million odds of crafting is ragequitting potential.

This is the stupidest idea I’ve ever read.
You think economy is dieing because you won’t be able to sell the things you craft? There is currently a best in slot great axe selling for 400k on my server. A legendary sword with 2 crit perks is 75k.

Jewelry that’s half decent starts at 10k.
Armor with all 3 pvp perks will sell for amounts that make Voidbent sets look stupid.
Are you even crafting anything decent or what the heck are you using your mats on?
And besides, we have new content coming up. We have no idea what new crafting things they might add.
But to spend months to get the perfect roll, or thousands of each material to try and get the perfect roll, or farming coin for months, only to try a new dungeon and have my shit destroyed while we learn the mechanics for which there isn’t yet a video guide on youtube? No way lmao.
Have you ever played tank in this game? Repair cost is almost double for me than my dps friends.

It’s enough of a chore and a drain to micro manage all the bullshit in the game like azoth, storage space… don’t add more.

Whoever thought ā€œlet’s make them work harder because it keeps them playing for longerā€ is just as much of an idiot as the guy who thinks this would be a good idea with the current system on perk rolls. Absolutely clueless.
