i play video games to play video games not watch other people play video games that i would want to play.
(actually scatch that. the only time i ever watch some one else is when im trying to learn strats and stuff. such as cs go smokes, pop flashes, and stuff like that. thats about it. this isnt really something that works with how shallow NW is. if PVP gets really JUICY smooth with actual skills getting involved then i might consider watching them to improve.)
I get that these guys get a lot of views but trying to hype a game with a bunch of content creators that don’t actually play the game anymore doesn’t really work. I watch Asmongold sometimes because he can be entertaining. I can tell you that anybody in chat that watches him thinks NW is trash. They aren’t going to change their opinion on it just because of this. Even when Asmon was talking NW up and telling everyone he loves it… the chat bashed NW.
While I don’t care for most streamers and streamer culture (and only a small part of that is bitterness because if that was a thing when I was young and single and childless, I’d have given it a shot lol)…
Anything that might bring more players back to the game is a good thing.
And it’s not like this is the ONE AND ONLY CHANCE for AGS to leverage influencers and marketing spend to get more eyeballs on the game…
why would you justify a bad decision by saying there are other chances. I think we both know this game needs every advantage it can get. The next time there is a chance like this is probably an expansion or a new region, which may not be coming for a while
so every decision should be put to action because instead of using logic we should accept the fact that we cant see the future. I hope youre not in charge of a company in the future lol
I don’t think this event is for us longtime players… i think its been created to convince players who quit and players who know nothing about the game to join.
Those content creators have massive audiences.
This is an ‘exclusive sneak peak’ they can give those people.
People new to the game or who played it several months ago may feel tempted to return.
The skin/content drop is for current players. They know we would just minimize the stream on a spare monitor anyway
(its simply put: silly, but sadly this method works for many games)
PVE is one of the few things in this game that is very playable. With only 100 people on my server, I can’t really judge the current state of the expeditions or anything else that FORCES to try for hours to join in with a group. I still love this game, I’m just so disappointed how damn hard AGS has made it for a solo player to get into a group now and then. I’m also disappointed that a group finder is not even a planned future upgrade. Hope I’m wrong.
Lmao, Asmongold already called the New World Developers morons for all the bugs. That sounds like a logical way to start a newly renovated expedition. Right in the middle of one of the worse patch releases since launch.
I definitely see how inviting very influential game reviewers to an expedition probably untested and at the worse possible shape a game can be in after 6 months.
I knew AGS had what it takes to turn this game around. The decision making at the beginning of NW’s life was a little rocky, but the devs really seem to have things under control now. I am very confident that they are making the right choices and definitely thinking of ways to bring in new players.
