Sorry, I already left my feedback in the thread specifically designed for that. This thread isn’t about Fire Staff (though I will probably talk about it from time to time, since it’s what I know).
I’m also curious about other things as well, though, such as the overwhelming amount of people who disliked the really weak Void Gauntlet light/heavy visuals or the fact that Void Blade is really clunky as a toggle that can be interrupted during its cast and go on full cd.
Or perhaps all of the feedback from Musket and Spear players regarding how most of the buffs, while appreciated, aren’t really doing a lot to address how clunky they are to play.
It’s true, I actually spent some quality time to address them with my feedback and I know others did as well. I don’t think I saw one response in those threads.
I don’t think that “addressing as much of your feedback as possible” really translates to “we silently did not nerf this 1 thing” to most players.
There is a lot of confusion over many of these changes from players, and I think that a lot of us were hoping that the devs would at least take the time to give us some of their thoughts on some of the more bewildering ones.
You seem to be under the impression that I expect them to make changes because I dislike what they did. I do not.
I just want to understand where they’re coming from and right now, again, I do not.
you can make your own statistic from here. https://forums.newworld.com/g/Developer/activity/posts
i was already read about last two week dev activity post,
my own view of summary (you can make your own idc) :
first you need your post at least had minimum 2k viewer at general and feedback to get dev attention, all post bellow that viewer never get any answer from dev, or maybe never even get readed by them.
second, there was grammar check, from what i see, people who post in rusia or europe word or languange was more get fast attention, from what i can see this cause their had several exclusive dev that only use rus/euro word, also if your grammar rating not on their ai standard you will be ignored automatically.
third named gamer or nick who had better star rating or higher forum level was got more attention, so if you are low level one their will ignore you
I don’t think asking the developers for answers should be considered cause for reprisal.
In this very thread, and countless more like it, there are enough disagreements about what AGS has actually done that understanding why they’ve done it can be a very elusive task.
The developers have shared some of their thoughts, have said they will continue to do so, and doing so will go a long way toward better understanding the decisions and philosophies of the architects of New World.
While I think AGS could be more responsive to direct player feedback, they do get quite a lot of it, and distilling it into something they can work with takes a lot of time and effort. The Community Management team does that and passes along a great deal of information to the designers, but what the designers do with that is up to them, and making those decisions takes time and vision.
In the wake of a hurried release, a lot of our current concerns don’t meet the threshold for triage yet, and many that do are not practical to fix soon, but eventually, they might be.
Until then, I recommend waiting patiently, but I don’t recommend waiting quietly.
Look at the bow thread man. 80% of the comments are literally about the same three issues. Its thee majority of players to have an issue with it. None of those issues were addressed and they are major issues.
Thank you for your well-reasoned response, I appreciate it!
I agree w/ what you’ve written here wholeheartedly. I tend to come across pretty dry when writing (I work for a law firm, probably comes w/ the territory lol).
I do mean to be patient. Even though they haven’t addressed the feedback prior to releasing the update like they said, I am still very interested in hearing more of their thoughts.
I will fully acknowledge that AGS has really ramped up their communication lately and I do appreciate that. I also understand that they have had their hands pretty full.
I’m just still hoping for some insight to the thought process on some of the changes or what their design intent is supposed to be for the weapons.
Some weapons come w/ the same damage, CC, heals, and buffs as other weapons that don’t bring nearly as much to the table in their kit, and that seems weird to me.
