With the upcoming Empyrean Forge Expedition this Spring, will there be Heavy Lost Ward tank set players can farm? Currently, there is zero world or expedition Lost Ward tank set to farm other than random “Brined” gear in Barnacles and Black Powder while Corruption and Ancients have two (2) sets (both expedition and world farmable) while Angry Earth has one (1) tank set that is farmable in Open World which is the Harbinger set.
The Brined gear in BB has only two set perks, Lost Ward and Refreshing Evasion while the third perk is 100% random which can promote some really poor choices of a 3rd perk rolled when looted, like Indestructible. The only issue with Brined gear is that Refreshing Evasion is not ideal for tank gear. Refreshing is overall better over Refreshing Evasion and Refreshing Ward as we’ve seen on other tank sets.
Additionally, to have the Best in Slot (BiS) Lost Ward gear, you would need to craft a 3 BiS perk chest with Lost Ward + Refreshing + Sturdy Energy, 2 perk Helm, Gloves, Pants and Feet with Lost Ward + Refreshing.
Refreshing is essential for tanks to keep their cooldowns to a minimum for Defiant Stance, Shield Bash (or Shield Rush) and Reverse Stab (or Leaping Strike) depending on how the tank utilizes their SnS abilities. Pair this with a tank sword that has Refreshing Move, refreshing on the tank gear set is ideal over Refreshing Evasion since as a tank, you’re mostly concentrating on keeping aggro, DPS when an opportunity is available and utilizing your abilities when off cooldown.
Suggestion: Heavy Lost Ward tank set from Empyrean Forge expedition OR farmable Heavy Lost Ward tank set in Open World.

I also understand that you can try to craft this gear, however, the probability of rolling such gear would be a astronomical gamble with the 3rd perk outcome to be Freedom on every piece and would be a very costly gamble for all five (5) pieces.
The principal behind this topic is that there is no farmable Lost Ward tank set within New World while the other creature classes has up to two (2) farmable heavy tank gear sets in Open World and Expeditions. A epic set with Lost Ward + Refreshing Evasion including a “random” 3rd perk is NOT ideal for tanking.
As you can see from the link provided from NWDB, there are ZERO Heavy Legendary Lost Ward tanking gear in New World either in Open World or Expeditions.
Legendary > Lost Ward > Heavy: Nothing here
