Zombie/Horde Mode? (Idea)

I couldn’t help but notice in this trailer. There is a horde of Lost I think they were, rushing into the church in a horde and seeing that made me want to rush in and take them all on. I don’t think any MMO has tried to do a Zombie/Horde mode kinda like the zombie mode in call of duty. IDK if it’s just me but I think this would be fun.

Its basically the point of invasions.

you sit there and defend waves of the same old same old.

it could be argued that there should be a game mode option that is that but endless with higher rewards for longer hold times. (oh and not tied to town stuff)

Some games that allow for single player and multiplayer have done this*, but I agree I have not seen a fullblown mmo take this on.

However, my one gripe would be that I’m burned out on zombies. Finding out about the Lost in this game was really disappointing.

After all we have evil elves (dryads), orcs (corrupted), and then zombies (the Lost).

Perhaps the Varangians could be raiding the shoreline allowing us to defend settlements or POIs.

*7 Days to Die is one that comes to mind.

Better yet, make different types of waves have different implications. Make corrupted hit you in formations, make evil elves deal in lots of CC, make the lost deal in resilience and anti-melee or something.

Spice up the waves, spice up the galaxy.

The game could definitely use a bit of extra PVE zazz so an idea like wave-based combat is real neato.

I pull a horde in Caminus every time I stop by - I pull like 30 mobs around the lava forges. People running by to grab the chests by gate lord usually make a “wtf” comment when they see the train.

Hello MyGamester, this sounds like a super fun suggestion that the Dev team might like to see, so I will make sure they get to see this post, that being said I would love to see what other players think about this as well!

I agree, I want to know what other people think of this idea! The trailer’s clip with the horde was only 5 seconds but it looked soo cool! Maybe fight them right there in the middle of the church popping AOE or fall back to a door get a couple shield people to hold them inside, or just push right up to where they are going to rush in and take the fight to them. Maybe some waves Melee damage does more and others it does less. Maybe its only lost one wave and a mix of stuff the next. Maybe its not in the church, instead its in a town (Instanced) so many possibilities with this!

Would be awesome to have open world, timed, PvE invasions like what he is describing.

Pick a “Soulwarden” fort that is on the map and have players defend that against waves would be so much fun

something kinda like portals but with WAY more mobs running at you and could be in different locations!

Well see I think instead of random areas it should be static so players know where to show up everytime and utilize one of the small fort designs that you find in the GC or SM.

Even if they don’t have a event surrounding it my buddies and I have said that having a Soulwarden fort that was populated by friendly NPCs who constantly fight off the enemy would be amazing.

Would add to the immersion, give a sense of yes we are fighting something, and at a distance imagine the sound of muskets going off in salvos.

You could of course chill out in that area and fight for as long as you want and maybe after so many kills you get a cache? Just curve xp gained in that area over some hours so you can’t just sit there forever and bot.

omg if its in the over world i didnt even think about hearing the fight from a distance that would be epic! If it is in the over world I wouldnt want that to effect how many mobs they could spawn at once. Like sins its in the over world only x amount of mobs can be spawned or lag would happen.

I’m sure it could be instanced to that territory. Mobs also spawn only when players are around so if no is there then no server issues.

Besides that I’m not sure how they could help it other than optimization.

They could make it in a instance like the Expeditions, OPR, ECT. I’m just happy that other people are open for this idea and IDC if its instanced or in the Open World!

How about ancient invasions, angry earth invasions, lost invasions?? All random

Where is this?! Where is a defender mode of Lost where you are defending well then suddenly a ship crashes into the gate (HOW?!) and Lost start pouring inside.

The only issue is that Lost resist muskets and this is wrong.
